ESSARY, James Thomas---Born in August 2, 1715 in Devon, England. His spouse is unknown. It is believed that two of the ESSARY brothers came to America together and one settled near Essary Springs, Tennessee. James Thomas ESSARY enlisted in the provincial troops of Pennsylvania in Captain John Shannon's Company in September 1746. He had three known children and one still unborn child by the time of his death in January, 1755 in the battle at Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

I HAVE FOUND IT SAID THAT JAMES ESSARY ALSO HAD A SON, JOHN BENJAMIN ESSARY BORN ON JULY 8, 1744. I HAVE ALSO FOUND THIS SAME JOHN TO BE LISTED AS A BROTHER OF JAMES. UNTIL I HAVE PROOF OF EITHER WAY, I LEAVE THIS UP TO THE INDIVIDUAL TO DECIDE FOR THEMSELVES.

ESSARY, John Benjamin---Born July 8, 1744 in Wales, England. Married Sarah Hester CLARK on June 17, 1776 in Pennsylvania. Nothing is known on Sarah. John died November 17, 1828 in Edgar, Illinois.

ESSARY, James Thomas---Born in 1755 in Lynchburg, Pennsylvania. He married Elizabeth MCDANIEL. Elizabeth was born in 1760 in Pennsylvania and died about 1820 in Warren County, Tennessee. James also died about 1820 in Warren County, TN.

ESSARY, James L.--Born in 1779 in Pennsylvania. He married Elizabeth CHARLES. Elizabeth was born about 1785 in Virginia and died on December 12, 1852. They had thirteen known children. James passed away on May 31, 1872 in Lawrence County, Tennessee. James and Elizabeth had three children that we do not have names for as of yet.

6. ESSARY, Nathan--Born June 12, 1809 in North Carolina and died April 4, 1865 in Hamilton County, Illinois.

I have not found any other information on her. Thomas William ESSARY died in about 1845 or 1865 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.

3. ESSARY, William--Born about 1833 in Tennessee. Nothing else known.

4. ESSARY, Sophronia--Born about 1834 in St. Francis County, Arkansas and died December 24, 1910. She married John Gann in Concho County, TX.

5. ESSARY, Mary Hannah--Born in 1836 in Arkansas. Married Alexander Galloway on September 3, 1857 in Stone County, MO.

6. ESSARY, T. Tennessee--Born about 1844 in Arkansas.

(6) ESSARY, Nathan---Born June 12, 1809 in North Carolina. First wife is unknown. They had one child. He then married Jane G. Vaughn HUDSON and they had one child. Jane was born in 1804. Nathan ESSARY died on April 4, 1865 in Hamilton County, Illinois.
