Logan hits the floor with a thump.
“Ouch, Ace.”
“Sorry but we’re going to be late again if we don’t hurry.”
“You know I like it better when you wake me the way you did yesterday, you were gentle and sexy.”
Logan remembers how she was straddling him when he woke she was grinning as she licked her lips the sexy way she does. He had reached up to pull her down for kiss and they made love before getting out of bed.
“No time for that now, Huntzberger we have to go.”
Rory runs to take her shower and Logan follows her. She is in and out in about a minute and he takes his turn knowing that he has to wake up quickly for the drive to school.
Having moved in together their senior year they are now engaged to be married in under three months. Rory is obsessed with them not being late since they live off campus and quite a few miles from Yale. It seemed like a good idea at the time but now they can’t wait until graduation and their wedding.
The thing is the connection between them is less about sex but more about the sparks that fly when they are near one another. Something inside of them seems to have come alive since they met and they feed off one another; they feel like soulmates. Intelligence and humor is something they also share in abundance. Getting married is the main thing on their mind these days; though they don’t always say it aloud.
The Huntzberger family is totally against their being together though the Gilmore’s are delighted and the wedding is planned for their new Cape Cod estate. Emily and Lorelei have finally put aside their differences since the wedding plans began. Both are excited about the affair; though Lorelei wedding had also been at Cape Cod.
On Saturday morning, they wake up to the sound of someone banging on their door.
”Sh_t, who is it,” Logan says at the door.
“It’s Finn, open up,” he says from the other side of the door.
Finn comes in looking wild-eyed, “Colin is missing man,” he says.
“Hey Rory,” he says when he sees her standing in the door with her robe on.
Pacing the room, Finn goes on to explain they had gone out drinking and Colin was talking to some girls but after a while the girls where missing and so was Colin.
“You think he was kidnapped?” Logan says in an unbelievable tone. Logan runs his hands through his hair and looks strangely at Finn who seems to be more of a wreck than usual after a night out. Rory makes coffee while they all try to decide the best way find Colin without involving their parents. But the point, Rory makes is that if he were kidnapped they would already know. Finn doesn’t want to call them because he picked Colin up last night and if he calls they will get suspicious if they haven’t already been contacted by a kidnapper.
“Okay, this is way to complicated,” Rory says.
“She’s right, it is a catch 22 situation,” Logan adds sitting beside Rory and kissing her hand.
“I’ve already tried him on his cell several times, and there is no answer,” Finn says.
“Now that is strange, Stephanie must be going crazy if she has tried too.”
“We better call her,” Rory says grabbing the phone.
Logan stops her reminding her how early it is and that they don’t want anyone to panic.
Logan heads to the bedroom to get dressed and he and Finn leave to go check out some of their hangouts to see if Colin is at any of them; Rory stays home so she can call Stephanie in a bit to see if she has heard from Colin. The first place they go is there local college pool hall/pub and he isn’t there but Finn sees one of the girls from the party that Colin was talking to last night. She is cleaning the counter like a waitress would. Finn tells Logan and they go in for a chat with her.
The waitress claims to not recognize Finn and to have no idea who Colin is. The guys leave the pool hall but stay outside and watch to see what she does when she thinks they are gone. The first thing she does is call someone.
“Mate I wish I had some bloody James Bond’s toys right now,” Finn says.
“They would come in handy,” Logan agrees.
After she makes the call she leaves and they follow her at a distance. She doesn’t travel far but she goes to a residence and parks the car in the garage. This is good for them because they can park down the street and try to get close to the house to see who is inside. They are standing at the back window when they see the girl talking to a man in the backroom. They hear someone scream from another room and then they hear a shot. They both run back to car in a hurry.
“Gunshots are not my thing; I’m a lover not a fighter,” Logan says.
They have her license plate from when they visited the pool hall so Logan calls a friend of his that is a cop. Good to know someone in law when you get into as much trouble as Logan has over the years.
Back at the apartment, Rory is speaking with Stephanie.
“Why would Finn think he was kidnapped?”
“He has been here most of the night,” Stephanie adds.
Rory was so relieved.
“Finn obviously didn’t see you when you came to pick him up, he will be relieved I think he blamed himself.”
Stephanie laughed Finn was having such a good time they just left and Colin’s cell needs charging so he hasn’t gotten his messages. Both of them had just awakened when Rory called.
Logan comes back alone since Rory has informed them by cell that Colin is alive and well. She goes straight in Logan’s arms and they embrace for a long time.
“That was scary,” Logan says.
“Ace, when I was growing up my parents used to always worry about me being kidnapped.”
Rory interrupts.
“Of course you were such a cute kid,” she laughs as he kisses her; not just to stop her from laughing but because he loves to do it. Then he takes her hand and they head back to the bedroom its only eight a. m.
