One of Lucas’ friends from the basketball team, Matt, stopped Faith in the hall. He wanted to know why Lucas was dating her instead of Brooke when he had told Brooke in front of several people that he would always be the one for her. Faith just looked at him instead of answering. Lucas came up behind her and put his arm around her waist while she was just looking at Matt with a questioning expression on her face. He kissed her on the mouth, something they decided they would always do since they were done hiding their relationship; she smiled at him and relaxed with his arrival.
“Hey Matt, what’s going on?”
“Matt wants to know why we’re dating instead of you and Brooke,” Faith said.
“And that is your business, why?” Lucas asked as he put his arm around her while trying not to be irritated.
“There was a rumor you and Brooke were getting back together not long ago,” Matt insisted trying to make the situation his concern.
“Do you usually listen to rumors Matt? And you don’t know Faith well enough to ask her personal questions; I really want you to let everyone know this is our business,” he said as he pointed at Faith and then himself.
Matt nodded and walked away.
“Lucas,” she said just before he planted another kiss on her inviting lips.
They kissed intimately for another minute before they realized it was probably not appropriate for the hallway. He ran his fingers across her lips when they were done.
“I know who I want to be with and it’s you,” he said a little breathless from their kiss.
He noticed she was wearing another pair of earrings he had bought her years ago; a pair of delicate crystal dangles.
“I can’t believe you still have these,” he said touching them.
“How do you know you really want me? We’re so young,” she said biting her lip while she held her books close to her chest and stared at him.
“No one knows me like you do, I don’t mean just physically but mentally; so many things: we think alike, we share the same interests, I love the smell of your hair, your skin, and that is only part of it. I didn't feel whole when I wasn't with you; I wish I had figured it all out sooner,” he added kissing her again.
"You love the smell of my skin?" she asked laughing.
She bit her lip, adding, "I thought I was the only one that felt like that."
Lucas grinned.
Brooke walked up behind them on the way to her locker and saw them in their lip lock, but she didn’t say anything as she walked past.
“You aren’t having doubts are you?” he asked.
“No, none at all; just promise you will continue to tell me the truth and not brush over things, I would be heartsick if you treated me that way,” she said as she looked in his eyes and saw his love for her clearly in them.
“Faith, I was stupid and I said things I shouldn’t have that’s something I do regret; but I don’t regret coming for you or loving you.”
She smiled, “I’m glad.”
“Did I tell you what Haley said when I asked her what I should do about you?”
She shook her head.
“She told me to be true to my heart,” he said while he closed the locker so they could get to class.
“Haley is a smart girl,” Faith said as he took her hand to interlock her fingers with his.
After the last basketball game they noticed that Brooke left with, Greg, one the other basketball players; Lucas was glad for her.
“Looks like she is finally moving on,” Faith said as they got in his car.
“I hope that works for her,” he said with a smile.
Haley and Nathan saved them room in their booth at the pizza place so they were waiting when Lucas and Faith finally pulled themselves out of the car after a kissing session.
“Sorry we were celebrating,” Lucas said as they sat down.
Faith grinned, “You guys don’t win that often.”
“Point well taken; but you two celebrate a lot.” Haley said smiling at them.
“Practice makes perfect,” Lucas replied scooting closer to Faith as she grinned at him.
Nathan smiled, “I won’t argue with that.”
Haley chuckled. After several false starts they had decided to remain married.
Lucas and Faith had been abstaining from sex since her birthday. Thanks to Nathan and Haley they were able to “hook up” at their place on that special night; on that night they had to lie to Karen and Arlene in order to be out all night, though neither of them liked that they had to stoop to that option.
Lucas was a bit irritated with Karen for being so picky about Faith being in his room. Faith respected his mom’s rules but he hated when Karen pushed the time to go business.
“Lucas I know you are eighteen and you think that gives you the right to do what you want but under my roof I still make the rules,” Karen said yelling at Lucas’ through the door.
Lucas glared at her.
“Mom, think about this if we are going to have sex we can have it anywhere it doesn’t have to be here in my bed,” he said as he walked out the door to stop Faith before she got in the car.
Karen was stunned that he actually said it out loud. Of course she knew it but for some reason all these years she hadn’t wanted to think about it. She knew about him and Brooke, who was well not known for her virginal attitude, though she only guessed they had slept together; she knew he was right.
“I’m sorry my mom was being such a pain,” he said to Faith through the window.
“It’s not your fault, and your mom just wants the best for us.” she said kissing him through the window. He opened her door and pulled her back out of the car so he could hold her while he kissed her; once his tongue was in her mouth he knew it was bad idea but he refused to stop.
“I want to make love to you,” he whispered.
“Soon, we just have to be patient,” she replied touching his lips.
As he began to kiss her again Faith responded eagerly and a moan escaped her lips as the kiss deepened. Her heart was racing when they finally took a break. Karen watched out of the window for a minute longer than she had planned. What kind of a spell does she have on him?
“I love your passion,” she said putting her hands on his face to look into his eyes. He held her to him again. It feels so good to be in his arms.
“I should go; be nice to your mom, okay?” she pleaded with him as she smiled.
“I’ll apologize I promise to be a good son while I still live here,” he replied with a smile as he let her get back in the car.
“See you tomorrow; I love you,” she said.
“I love you too,” he said with a final kiss before she drove away.
Karen apologized to him for being overbearing as soon as he walked in the house.
“Lucas I didn’t mean to treat you like a kid; I know you and Faith are very responsible.”
“Apology accepted; I apologize for being rude to you earlier,” he said hugging her.
Karen let Lucas know she could see how much he cared for Faith and she was proud of him for doing what he felt was right regarding Brooke.
