While holding Logan after he tells her that in order for the relationship to work she needs to be able to talk to him about things Rory starts to cry. Logan tells her he loves her and she explains how she may leave school since she doesn't know what she wants to do anymore.
"If your father says I don't have it, then who am I to question him."
"Ace you can prove him wrong, I have faith in you," Logan says kissing her.
"I love you, Huntzberger," she says
She kisses him and begins probing his mouth with her tongue; as the kiss deepens he removes her sweater and then her shirt. While they are still kissing she takes off his sweater and shirt.

The pants and shoes are also left behind in the common room as they head for Rory's bedroom. Logan realizes he needs to go back so she stays behind on the bed; a little uncomfortable in her undressed state. When Logan is getting the condom out of his wallet his father walks in the door. He is holding it in his hand when he sees him standing there.
"Hi Logan, I assume Rory is here considering your state of dress."
Logan is standing there in his boxers holding a condom in his hand.
"Why are here haven't you done enough damage?" he says.
Rory throws on a tee shirt when she hears Logan talking to someone.

She sneaks a peek in the room and is surprised to see Mitchum standing there. "Mr. Huntzberger, what are you doing here?"
"I came to tell you I did some additional research and I want to ask you to stay in the internship position," he says.
"I wish I had known casual was the dress of the day," he says smiling and embarrassing Rory who turns immediately red.
"Dad," Logan says going toward Rory to put his arms around her.
"I accept Mr. Huntzberger," she says releasing herself from Logan gently and reaching out to shake Mitchum's hand.
"I am sorry to have interrupted and I am glad you are being safe," he says smiling as he leaves.

Logan stops Rory at the door to her room.
"Rory will you marry me?" he says opening the ring box he had in his other hand. "Logan, are you serious?"
"Ace, I have been carrying this around since I agreed to be your boyfriend, I don't want to ever be without you."
"Please say yes," he adds.
"Yes, of course, I was just surprised," she says kissing him.

After making love they are lying in the unmade bed with a sheet over them.
"My grandmother gave me her engagement ring when I was in my teens she thought I had a good head on my shoulders and should be able to choose my own wife," he says.
"You must have really loved your grandma; I can't believe you have been carrying it around this whole time," she says.
"I really miss my grandmother she had different ideas about the family then my grandfather, and I know she would have approved of you," he replies smiling at her and leaning over for a kiss.

Logan wants to go tell Lorelei with Rory but she decides she would go alone. She and Lorelei met at Weston’s the next day for lunch.
"Mitchum Huntzberger changed his mind, does he do that?" Lorelei says.
"Can he just break your heart and then change his mind?" she adds.
"Mom, I thought you would be happy, and since I know Logan didn't say anything to convince him since he was with me when Mitchum asked me to stay," Rory says.
"So what did Logan have to say?" "He said he loves me Mom and has faith in me; he also asks me to marry him," Rory adds waiting for the inevitable reaction
"What?"
"Yea, isn’t it great," she says showing her the ring.

Lorelei is in shock. She tries to smile but it looks more like a smirk. When Rory shows her the antique engagement ring, Lorelei is floored by the size and beauty of it. "Are you sure Rory, every since you have been involved with that family you have been different," she says.
"I am learning to take chances and to believe I can make my own decisions, Mom,"
"Sometimes I get the feeling you don’t like me being so independent," Rory adds.
"No, if you are happy so am I," Lorelei says stiffly.
"Your grandparents will be ecstatic, now they can work on the Cape Cod wedding they wanted you to have so badly," Lorelei frowns.
Rory is too happy to worry about her mom’s attitude today. She leaves after lunch to meet Logan.

They are in Logan and Colin’s dorm room making plans when Finn comes home with Stephanie.
"Hey mate, didn’t know you two were going to be here," he says winking at Logan. "We will go in my room," Logan says waving at them as they disappear into his room. "I want us to get a place, Ace."
"How long are you planning us to wait?" she says with their arms wrapped around one another.
"You mean to marry?" he asks.
"Yes, I was thinking a year is more than enough," she says.
"A year is too much," he says kissing her.
They decide that in less than a year they will be married, and they will find a place not far from campus to move into until then.
