Hi Cousin,
I am the youngest daughter of Frank B. Neel and Edna Lorena Hodgson.
Frank and Robert's father, Raymond, were brothers. I have much
information on the children of Winfield Neel, my grandfather, on the
children of Samuel and Martha and a little on Martha's ancestors but
nothing about Samuel's roots. I do have census records from 1850. I was
mistaken about what I wrote about Dorothy Russell. I jumped to the wrong
conclusion (I get my exercise that way)
I never knew her. It was Lyle and DORIS I played with. I thought Lyle
was very handsome. And now I remember that Raymond was married and lived
in town but I don't remember Dean.
Jane Ellen Neel's first husband was Robert Strickler, who died coming
home from the Civil War. She had three children by him. She then
married John Hartwell and they moved to Kansas. More about that later.
. I remember your Grandparents , Aunt Hattie and Uncle Clem. They came
to Albuquerque once to visit. We took them up in the mountains and Uncle
Clem did not like those steep winding mountain roads. I remember how
FLAT Kansas seemed to me. That was my first trip out of the state of New
Mexico.
