Abby and Sasha had just finished getting ready when there was a knock on the door. Abby gave her friend the honor of answering the door while she slipped into the kitchen to get herself in check. Why was she getting nervous anyway? She heard Kevin’s voice come into the house, followed by Nick’s. Taking a deep breath, Abby walked out in to the living room to greet them.
“Well, well, I didn’t expect to see you again so soon,” she said as Nick walked up to her.
“Aaww, disappointed?”
“Just a little. I’m still recovering from the last time. Oh and before I forget, there’s one rule. No spitting.”
“I’m never going to live that one down.”
“No, you’re not.”
Nick sighed, smiling. “Oh, did you meet Brian?”
Abby shifted her gaze to the man standing near the door, and their eyes met. “We met briefly when I was leaving last night.”
“Well, now that everyone knows each other, lets get going. I’m starving,” Kevin said, taking Sasha by the hand.
The car ride was rather silent, even with Nick in the car. He had on headphones and was playing a Game Boy to keep his annoyance to a minimum. Abby sat beside Brian and very little came out of his mouth. She wanted to strike up a conversation with him but didn't know what to say. Silence was the only thing she was able to let pass her by. Sasha sat in the front with Kevin and would joke and play around with him while he was driving.
They finally arrived at the restaurant a good thirty minutes later and were seated soon after. They were quickly serviced leaving them some time to talk before their food was brought to them. Brian mainly sat in silence listening to the others. Unknown to all how they got on the topic of children, Sasha quickly spoke up, "That reminds me, Abby works in a children's hospital."
Abby's head lifted and found four pairs of eyes all looking at her. She slowly nodded her head, "Yes I do. Reason why were talking about my job?"
Sasha smiled at her friend who seemed to not be paying attention to either of them, "Since you weren't paying attention to any of us, let me just give you a quick overview. We were talking about the charity and the children that could be helped with the donated money. Nick then said that he wouldn't mind checking out a few hospitals and seeing some of the children."
"Oh," Abby glanced at all the guys, with the longer look in Brian's direction. He was staring at his water glass and the droplets on the outside, watching them fall to the bottom and quickly absorbed into the light blue tablecloth. Returning her eyes to Nick, "If you want, you're more than welcome to stop by at anytime. The children would love meeting you. I'm sure it will brighten even their darkest days."
A small voice quickly responded as Brian lifted his head, "I wouldn't mind going either. I'm not busy tomorrow and I would love to see some of the children."
Nick quickly agreed, "Yeah! We can get all the guys and head down there. It'll be great! Kev?"
Kevin's face grew quickly with disappointment, "I can't. I have that meeting with the executives from Jive. I can't back out of it. I think I might be able to try join up with you all later."
Brian nodded his head, understanding Kevin’s excuse. "That's alright Kev." He looked back at Abby. "Nick and I will be there bright and early in the morning."
"Thank you so much," Abby smiled lightly at the members just as their food was placed in front of them. They ate their food making small talk about anything that seemed to pop into their mind while Kevin and Sasha shared a conversation privately with one another.
