A Minority Report - October 19, 2003

You know, I've been thinking lately. I can't seem to figure out why the liberals in this country are so bent on minority advancement. It's a touchy subject in our press, for sure. But we'll get to that in a minute. To start to figure this out, we have to go all the way back to 1776. Yes, that's right, the founding of our democracy as we know it today. One of the major principles, if not the main principle, of democracy is the idea that the "majority rules". Just think about that phrase for a second. Hmmm. In the liberal fervor for minority advancement, the left-wingers seem to have forgotten this. The needs of the majority are being neglected. By biasing job advancement systems and college admissions systems in favor of minorities, the MAJORITY is hurt. The rest of this is discussed in my affirmative action essay, which is accessible on this webpage.

As always with liberals, there is a more behind this. By assisting the minority in this way, the liberals gain power. They seem like the good guys and we, the fair ones (and the ones who just want to live by the standards that the founding fathers set for us), seem like the bad guys. This translates into votes for the poster child of the liberal cause, the Democratic Party. So you see, what appears as liberal "sympathy" is really a power ploy that is too damaging to the left to be printed in mainstream media.

Speaking of race in the media, the Rush Limbaugh situation greatly disturbed me. No one should be surprised, though. The man's comments were not racist, period. Whether or not they were right is a discussion for another time. The left was waiting in the wings for an opportunity to tarnish Rush's reputation. It’s sad that the level of political correctness in our society has reached this level. No one can talk about the subject of race without being personally attacked. A sad situation indeed... - Written by an Anonymous 15 Year-Old Conservative

Murder is Inexcuseable...In Any Form - July 27, 2003

I'm going to take some time off of writing on current events and express my opinion on an issue that has dominated liberal-conservative arguments since the 70's. If you haven’t already guessed, this issue is abortion. My desire to write about this has been sparked recently by having an argument with a person who happens to take a liberal viewpoint on this issue. While it was a constructive argument, several glaring holes could be found in the argument of my friendly opponent.

The first was that, while my opponent found the practice of abortion to be morally wrong, she felt that women should have a choice and that legislation should not be made concerning these private matters. No legislation needs to be made, seeing as murdering a human being is already against the law. No matter how liberals twist and spin the subject, the fetus IS a human being. A human life is lost when abortion is practiced, plain and simple. While that human is not conscious, it is still living. Therefore, the practice of abortion is murder. In my opinion, the only time when abortion should be allowed is is cases of proven rape, when the woman is not responsible for her actions. In all of the other cases, if the woman did not want to be pregnant, then she should not have had sex. She should be held responsible for her actions. Abortion also promotes the degradation of the moral standards of our society. There would be almost no bad consequence of having extramarital sex and premarital sex, specifically for teenagers. The problem could be erased by having an abortion. The last argument that my opponent made was that if abortion was outlawed, women would resort to using coat hangers, among other things, to preform the abortions on themselves. Consequentially, they kill themselves. Once again, this is their choice. If they choose to use a coat hanger, they choose the potential consequences as well. No law should be made to protect women from themselves. So, to all women considering an abortion, think twice before committing murder. - Written by an Anonymous 16-Year-Old Conservative

Hilary...following in Bill's Footsteps - June 8, 2003

Amazingly enough, a common trait is becoming evident in the Clinton family. Can you guess what it is? I'll tell you shortly. In case you did not know, Hilary Clinton just published her new book, "Living History". Although I have not read the book itself, excerpts from it state that Hilary was "shocked" and "devastated" when Bill broke the news of his affair with Monica Lewinski to her. Can you believe the nerve that she has? Just how stupid does she think we are? We, as Americans, should be outraged by this obvious lie that reeks of deception and manipulation. The press was all over the story prior to the time that she claims Bill told her about the affair. How could she not have known? Did she need to hear it straight from honest Bill's mouth? Also, how come Senator Clinton did not come out in the press and display her devastation and outrage to the level that she describes. If you haven’t figured out the common trait in the Clinton family by now, it's lying.

In reality, this book is not the sentimental memoir that Mrs. Clinton proclaims it to be. It is a Public Relations stunt. Essentially, Hilary is building up sympathy and popularity for herself to carry her through the election of 2008. It seems far off, but not as far as it may seem. She is starting her official presidential campaign with this book, and she won't finish until she wins the White House. --- Written by an Anonymous 16 Year-Old Conservative

A Search for Weapons of Mass Destruction? - June 8, 2003

President Bush has recently come under severe fire in Congress for failing to produce the W.M.D.'s that were the foundation for the War in Iraq. Although I am a strict conservative (a rarity at my age of 15), I request of President Bush that he show the evidence that led him to believe that the weapons exist. He does not have to do it right now, though. He can have until September to produce these weapons or evidence of their existence and only then we should get suspicious. Saddam Hussein had 25 years to hide these weapons. We simply won't find them overnight. Personally, I feel that the war is justified even without the W.M.D.'s that we promised. Hearing the news about the mass graves that have been found tells me one thing: with out without Weapons of Mass Destruction, Saddam Hussein was a threat to the world and to his own people. Good riddance.

The biggest fear that President Bush should have is the continuous attack that the liberals will mount against him for not producing these weapons. However, the liberals are quite frankly not concerned with whether or not these weapons are found. It makes no difference to them. Instead of a search for Weapons of Mass Destruction, the liberals are conducting a search for something that could hurt President Bush in the next election. President Bush has not been flawless but he has certainly done an admirable job in the wake of 9/11 and the war. The Democrats need something that they can use to color the President's image enough that it will give their candidate a chance in the election of 2004. President Bush is a pretty popular guy right now, but as we learned from his father, that status is always hanging in the balance. --- Written by an Anonymous 16 Year-Old Conservative
