Eternal Moments

so old you are ... like me
yet innocence abides in you

i would expect winter
yet you smile amidst springtime flowers,
gentle rains, warm days

and the nights ... oh, the nights
shrouded in mist, cloaked in beautiful darkness
you walk silently ... smiling
so knowingly you smile

old ... tho ageless ... both of us
yet you awaken youthfulness in me

and we walk in flowered meadows
make love in dew-covered grasses
lie beside each other gazing at clear blue sky
and dance in the night 'neath the stars

together ... forever young
forever creating
and forever old watching over our creations

smiling at our children
laughing as we dance
crying at the beauty of our lovemaking

forever old and young
in the eternal moment

it is said the goddess has three aspects
i say there are five:
the little girl, the virgin longing to be a woman
the lover, the mother, and the old woman
all of these you are
and so beautiful ... each of you so beautiful
