Forbidden Lover

He tells me he is a free lover

That he can please any woman

One day ours will be over

Yes, he is one hell of a man

He speaks to me as if warning

That he will not let himself love

Because of love his heart is still scorning.

His armor he has made as fit as a glove.

He tells me.."Do Not Love me!"

"I do not want you to be hurt."

But baby, open your eyes to see.

You have made caution exceedingly alert.

I continue as I look into his eyes.

And think his soul says he lies.

Why do you mention what is furthest from my thought?
