Forever We Remain So

in the waterfall above the pool
the water cascades gently upon us
singing its clear sound
the droplets trail down
to play with the rocks under our feet
who answer with quietly resounding warmth

the sunlight touches the falling water
each drop sparkling with sunlight
that turns them into prisms of sparking colors
the wet rocks glisten
in crystalline appreciation
blended with her dampened hair
at once both silver and gold
the color of the moon
and the sheen of her pale skin
shining like early morning dew

we make love
standing there
creating our own song
that is in harmony
with the elements around us
yet still our own

deep within her
i do not move
nor does she
there is no need
there never is

our eyes locked
hers the color of ripened wheat
on a sunny summer day
rippled by a warm gentle wind
mine dark like the clouds
of an approaching summer storm
lightning flashing
but not threatening

we remain so forever it seems

we whisper

and tho whispered
our words are carried by
the water, the sunlight, the breeze, the rocks
they carry them everywhere
touching everything
and then return them to us
everything touching us

and so we remain forever, it seems
