Forget-me-not

In an old shoe box of junk
I kept a small box
It opened to a gold ring
that had the letter "F" engraved
I remember how he walked my to gym
carrying my books and holding my hand
Bashfully het let go
And pulled a box from his pocket
He took a ring out
Sliding it on my finger
I smiled and kissed him softly
He said we were forever
And as I looked into his eyes
I fell in love
We walked in silence
Not wanting the moment to end
Now five years have past
The ring is still in the box
And as I look at the ring
I feel the same joy I did that day
Although we are no longer together
I can't help but wonder
If he's some where thinking of me
