I'll Do
Like you I can only be who
I am
At the same time you
are you
You may not think I’m worth
a damn
Believe me just like you
I’ll do
You may be full of precious
knowledge
And with time be secure
and wise
But I will meet life’s greatest
challenge
Have no shame hold my head up
with pride
It may seem to others that I may have an extremely
bad attitude
But I’m young and you can’t expect me to think and act
like you
You tear me down, nag, and scream, and put me in this kind of mood.
When if we can communicate what you ask me.
I just
might do.
Now either we can work this out or just leave
It be.
When I say this it means us all and that includes
you too.
Its on you make up your mind whatever you say is fine
with me.
As it stands I don’t give a damn cause just like you
I’ll do.
(I saw my baby sister, and my mother argue. If my little sister had been more like me she would have responded like this. That was my motivation for this poem.)
