I am standing at what looks to be the tallest mountian in the world,
Mount Everest.
My clothes are heavy with sweat,
and the sun is beating down on me,
but there is snow on the ground I am standing on.
I don’t understand why I am so warm when there is still snow?
The mountian is calling me over and over,
I think it wants me to climb it.
I feel I must obey, so I begin to climb.
With every step it’s getting harder,
the ledge is getting tinner,
I am going to loose my balance.
Quickly I regain my footing,
I can almost feel the top of the mountian.
I decide to reach for the top, but I miss,
I lose my footing,
I’m going to fall.
All I can do is close my eyes and brace for impact.
Well, it has been a good life!
I land with a thud.
Did I survive?
Or am I in heaven?
Slowly I open my eyes,
I’m on my bedroom floor!
“Honey, are you up?
I’ve been calling your name for fifteen minutes.”
So that was Mom not the mountian.
I take a look at the white bed sheet around me,
the snow?
Why a mountian,
does it have some significance?
Oh well, time to get up,
I can think about this later,
I have school.
That’s it I have a test,
that’s what I forgot.
They say your dreams don’t mean anything!!
