The springtime sky is blue and bright.
The warming air gives all delight.
A time of beginnings, everything new,
the grass covered by the morning dew.
This is a time of joy and expectation,
of learning and building a foundation.
Next comes summer, so intense,
flowers in full bloom, and their scents.
The sun beats down, the air is so hot;
everyone searches for a shady spot,
any relief from the relentless sun.
Soothing water gives chance for fun.
Cooling air signals the coming fall
Leaves turning color on trees so tall,
Scarlet, tangerine, and yellow-gold.
It won't be long 'till they loose hold,
and then raked into familiar piles.
Jumping into them give many smiles.
Finally there's winter, cold and white,
accompanied by the lengthening night.
There are no leaves left on the trees,
except the pines moving in the breeze.
Everything is either sleeping or dead,
but there is another spring still ahead
