Tightrope Walker

I am a tightrope walker used to using a net.
Every step I take a confident, sure bet.
I've gotten used to working all alone
every step I take entirely just my own.

But now my life is more like the trapeze,
flying up in the air, swinging on the breeze.
No net, just the person on the other end,
on whom I must trust, on whom I depend.

So I need to know, will you catch me when I fall?
Will you stand by my side unfazed through it all?
If I let go, can I trust your hands will grasp mine?
Can I believe when you say everything will be fine?
