The First Invasion is something of which I have little knowledge. It was complied originally by myself with the help of those involved, and then as I had the time and the means, I went back to set the facts straight as was requested by a few who still recall.
Background
Piirek, or Piers, as we called him, claimed to be from Yesua. He spoke Yesuan, and painted for us a very vibrant, detailed picture of his life and past apart from the Collective. Rhiannon was closest to him, and told us he fabricated much of it for security reasons, but there is no way to be certain.
One of Sonia's games drew him out in 1994. He played along, adding more each day. He revealed his past and slowly began to come out more often. He repeated several times that the Rahkas were after him, and insinuated that a war was brewing. Several things about his past, such as certain terms, were admittedly borrowed from the Game. While I believe that these things existed for him prior to the Game, I also believe he adopted many aspects as they suited the Collective. For instance, the term "Rahkas" is Sonia's: the Rahkas, or "military elite" have always existed for him, but he embraced the term as it fit so well. It eventually found its way into the Yesuan language as a word for "shadow".
Piers spoke of the Rahkas as a very large, and very frightening, part of his past. They were minions of Xavier, or Saefir. Several Inside claim that Xavier's surname, or that his true name, is Azrael. His troops are well-trained, organized, and with a definite objective. The move as one body, and that is amazing to behold.
There were two decisive battles: one lasted seventeen days, and the other for nineteen days. I cannot attest to many of the details, for I was not heavily involved at first, as Piers was the main one and, as you recall, my duties were merely to protect the little ones incapable of their own protection.
I know Piers' story, and Rhiannon said it was all fabricated. Being that he was Inside, it is indeed unlikely he had a life Outside. I believe the Rahkas wanted him because he was the strongest at that time; to recruit him was to recruit the entire Collective.
First Invasion (1994-1996)
Though the First Invasion did not take place until 1995, vast preparation was underway in 1994. There were several who played major roles in the Rahkas Wars, five of whom were Navratil, Steffen, Ramsey Gunnar, Nazario and Ethan. Scott was too young and served against my wishes; he falsified his own death during a raid and entered Piers' ranks under the name Jet. Navratil is a scout, Steffen is a negotiator, Ethan (nicknamed "Hunter"), is a sniper. Ramsey Gunnar was a guard, and Nazario was Piers' first lieutenant.
The seventeen-day battle was fierce; and I had no part in it. I could only imagine what happened. Your best bet in regards to that one is to ask one of the soldiers still with us. I know Piers was heavily involved, because trying to control Rhiannon while he fought was a near-catastrophe. She loved him deeply, you know. I still feel that there was something they shared, a bond that not one of us touched upon. It was only God's grace that pacified her.
Some say the nineteen-day battle was after Piers had left, however some soldiers who had served under him at the time deny that. It was during this questionable period that, whether Piirek was still enlisted in our ranks or not, was for whatever reason unavailable. Therefore, I slowly began taking command as was necessary at the time; I must say that in retrospect, it was a damn good idea as Piers was killed in late 1995, anyway. Many, including the Host, despised me, and my only ally was Gabriel, who I in turn despised. Azrael, who some Inside also know as Xavier, came to forcibly conquer the Collective with the help of his Elite. I could not allow this to happen, even though I was not who he sought. He sought Gabriel, who did not have any leadership position whatsoever, which I must say angered me at the time. I assumed that as Guardian Protector, this Azrael should make his business known to me. That was the only reason at that time that I had anything to do with fighting. I took on the title of Battalion Commander, and led an offensive attack. The offensive was both brutal and sadistic...it is not something to delve into now. I felt somewhat guilty for leaving my little ones, but I made sure to wrap them tightly into the Mushroom House, and they were safe. This was repeated as the Second--and Third--Invasions took place.
To this day, I am not entirely sure how we were able to drive the Rahkas back, but apparently they thought it futile to take us so obviously, and instead sent "infiltrators" to take us out one by one. It is interesting to note: Those called Rahkas, or the Elite, and Demons, are also the same as the Shadows the little ones speak of. I suppose it was, indeed, a fitting name.
