Responsibilities to One's System

You are responsible for the actions and inactions of your own system!
This is another controversial subject. It basically means this: just because your insider stole a bracelet from Wal-Mart and it wasn't really "you", doesn't mean you are off the hook. Your insiders really are you. They aren't like parasites, living off the host, though sometimes that is an apt description. If one of your insiders physically assaults someone, it was still you. You cannot blame it on another person. You are responsible. This is a difficult thing to accept, as many have insiders who are drug abusers, sex addicts, and gang members. That is why it is so imperative to get your insiders to communicate. Communication, understanding, safety measures such as contracts and ground rules are all important. Even the most violent and anti-social insider will be likely to cooperate if they are made to feel an important part of their system.

Ground Rules
Ground rules are essential to any system. It commands cooperation and communication. Certain ground rules must be in teh form of a contract until everyone is comfortable obeying them. Rules can be about anything, but it must be fair. Examples of such are:
1. No harming the body.
2. No intentional harming of oneself or others within the system.
3. Rage must be dealt with in the Anger room.
4. No one comes out around family.
5. No secrets from one another.
