AN: Yet another chapter before I was supposedly supposed to start updating again. Do you love me or do you love me? LOL *does happy Emma dance* comments are welcome as always.
“So, did you do it?” AJ asked as he rummaged through the clothes hanging on the rack in front of him.
“10 minutes AJ!” A voice was heard from behind the door.
“Yeah, Yeah I heard you the first time..” He replied and continued preparing for the concert.
“Yeah, I told Nick it’s over.” Serenity smiled sweetly. She licked her lips and continued applying the layers of makeup to her face.
“You did? And he’s okay with us?” AJ’s face glowed at the concept.
“In his words, ‘It’s going to take me some time but I guess I always knew you two were meant to be.’ I think he’s going to be just fine.” Serenity explained.
“Oh yeah? wow. This is good, Renity. I can finally kiss you in public without feeling like a jackass. No more hiding. No more sneaking around like we were 15 year olds hiding from our parents. Remember? Like those times you supposedly went home just to climb back into my room from the back window? It made sense to do it back then but we’re adults. We should have our freedom and we finally got it.” He lectured.
“I don’t suggest we do that quite yet.”
“And why not?” He asked as he pulled her against his chest.
“Because...do you really want to flaunt our relationship right in front of Nick’s eyes? Isn’t that crude?” She pulled back from his arms and gently pushed him back toward the clothes.
“Change.” She added.
“You’re right. I never think of these things. And no, I’m not giving you a free striptease.”
“It’s nothing I’ve never seen before. We bathed together, ya know.”
“Renity, we were three years old.”
“Yeah, so?”
“Things changed, got bigger.” This conversation was even too much for AJ, he felt his face get hot and some color appeared on his cheeks.
Serenity burst out laughing.
“You’re cute. But yeah, I’ll let you change.” She turned to open the door.
“FIVE MINUTES AJ!” The same guy yelled just as Serenity opened the door.
“Whoa there, chill.” Serenity reversed a few steps at the loud sound of his voice. She closed the door behind her.
“A breath mint wouldn’t hurt either.” She whispered in the guy’s ear and left him there, stuck in his place, completely bewildered.
“NICKY!” Serenity shrieked and jumped into his arms.
“If it isn’t my girlfriend.” He flashed his famous smile.
“If it isn’t my boyfriend.” She returned the smile.
“Where have you been?” He asked.
“Just hanging around, thinking about you.” Serenity was always thankful for her lying skills.
“Oh yeah? Well think no longer.”
“That might be easy for you but I kinda need to think.” She said as she kissed the tip of his nose.
“So you want to do something tonight after we’re done here?” Nick slowly lowered Serenity to the floor and looked deeply into her eyes.
“I can’t.”
“You can’t? What are you doing?” He squinted and raised one of his eyebrows.
“I’m just tired, Nick. I think I’m going straight to bed.” She got bored by the conversation and started roaming her eyes around the room.
“Oh, okay. I’ll see you tomorrow then.”
“You’ll see me tonight in the audience. I’ll probably be the most excited person there.”
“I wouldn’t go that far but you will be the only person I’ll notice.” He bent over to kiss her but Serenity jumped away and fell right into the recliner behind her.
“What’s wrong?”
“AJ was passing through and you know how he’s still not over Destiny. I don’t want him to get upset by a loving, functioning couple. We’ll have plenty time for that later, anyway.” Serenity smiled mischievously.
“I’m glad you decided to stay until the end of the tour. It’s time for work again. I’ll catch you later.” Nick stated and ran to catch up with the rest of the guys.
It was the last song of the concert and Serenity was sitting in the front row. The fans were giving her weird looks because she was on her chair sitting, showing absolutely no excitement. Serenity brushed them off and lipped ‘shut up’ many a times during the two hour long performance. Toward the last minute Serenity stood up and blew a kiss to the guys. Both Nick and AJ thought the kiss was intended to them and returned it with a wave and a wink. They were so taken by the enigma she was that they didn’t even notice how both of them were paying attention to her and forgetting all about the other people in the arena or even surrounding them on tour. Even worse, they didn’t notice that they were both going for the same girl. The concert was over and Serenity rushed backstage. She gave a knowing look to the bodyguard who acknowledged who she was and let her in without any questions. The many fans behind her booed and yelled at scene but she rolled her eyes and continued her walk.
“Serenity...” Destiny hissed as her antagonist approached her.
“Destiny, it’s been a while.”
“It could have been longer.” Destiny confessed.
“Always the charmer.”
“Nah, I only tend to be this cheery around you. You bring out the best in me.”
“Ouch, could you possibly add anymore sarcasm to that sentence?” Serenity smirked as she sat beside Destiny.
“Yeah, I could but if you keep sitting there I might have to resort to physical violence.” Destiny gave her a look and moved nearer to the other end of the bench.
“I don’t think you’re glued to the seat, Destiny. You can move just as simply as I could.”
“I was here first.”
“What’s wrong, Des? Still not over AJ? Is your cheating ass feeling remorse?”
Destiny gave her an annoyed smile and got up from the seat.
“Congratulations Serenity, you managed to chase me away. I didn’t cheat on him. Just to let you know, I don’t trust you one bit and I have no idea why Nick’s dating you but one day, hopefully sooner than later, Nick will realize what a bitch you are and dump your ass.” She looked down at Serenity and shook her head in disgust.
“I heard that, Des.” Nick tapped her shoulder and she turned back to him.
“Good. Maybe some of that info will leak into that thick head of yours.”
“God Destiny, she’s my girlfriend and I love her so you better learn to accept her or I’m not going to be able to be in your life and don’t make me do that because you’re one of my best friends.”
“Then don’t put me in that position, Nick. ” Destiny searched through her bag and removed a small notebook from her paper. She removed one sheet and showed it to Nick.
“See this?” She asked referring to the piece of paper in her hand.
Nick only nodded and waited for her to speak again.
Destiny tore the piece of paper into two.
“Like this piece of paper, you two are going to split up.” She tore the remaining parts into smaller parts and let them drop to the floor.
“And all that’s going to remain of your heart is broken pieces which will mend very slowly, or like this paper’s fate, never.” She kicked the torn piece of paper and they spread all over the floor. Destiny left and the couple looked at her in amazement.
“What the hell was that about?” Nick asked.
“I don’t know. Maybe she stole some of that alcohol from Brian.”
“Serenity!”
“What? I was only kidding.”
“That was harsh.”
“Okay, okay, sorry!” She said apologetically.
“It’s alright. So, you’re going home?”
“Yep. I’ll call you tomorrow morning.”
“I’ll be waiting.”
“No you won’t, you’ll be sleeping and it’ll take me calling about five times before I get an answer.”
“Yeah, that sounds about right. I’ll be dreaming about you, though.”
“Can’t argue there. You could be saying that and actually dreaming about Pam Anderson for all I know.”
“Nah baby, you’re all the silicone I need.”
“Excuse me, Carter?”
“I was just...” He stuttered.
“These,” She said grabbing her breasts “Are not fake.”
“It was a joke.” He finished his sentence.
“But now, you might never get to find out for sure.” She stuck out her tongue.
“it was a joke!”
“With a high cost.” Serenity concluded.
“Are you really mad?”
“Is the sky blue?”
“Uh, yes.” He replied.
“Not now, it isn’t.” She said simply.
“So that’s a no?”
“That’s a no.” She agreed.
“Good because I really do want to find out.”
“Don’t get ahead of yourself. In good time.”
“You sure you don’t want to do something tonight?”
“I’m exhausted. I wouldn’t be much fun.” Serenity said.
“I don’t know about that. You’re a blast right about now.”
“I know. Maybe some of that crack Destiny was using leaked into me.”
“SERENITY!”
“Then let me go get some sleep.” She whined.
“You’re dismissed.”
“Thank you professor Carter.”
“The Stupid and Stupider academy will be expecting you tomorrow, missy.”
“I’ll be here.” She laughed and left him to return to his business.
Serenity divided her time equally between the two men. She would spend one night with each of them. She couldn’t believe how her plan was working. It never crossed her mind that she would actually be able to achieve what guys have been doing to her for years. Her genius plan was succeeding and she was enjoying every moment. For Destiny, however, the tour was passing by painfully slow. She kept getting evil looks from everyone. Everyone was under the idea that she cheated on AJ. The only one who seemed to believe her was Nick but he was distancing himself from her because she refused to act civil to Serenity. They were always caught in a cat fight. Destiny found comfort in Coral and Carrie’s comfort. They spent most of the time together and got closer by the day. The last day of the tour approached and while the boys were busy at the arena performing to please the fans, Coral, Carrie and Destiny were out enjoying the fine cuisine Norway had to offer.
“Chomp, Chomp, Chomp.” Carrie retorted as she stuck a fork into the steak she was eating.
“What are you doing?” Destiny asked with fright.
“Playing with my food.” Carrie said with a wide smile.
“Didn’t your mom ever tell you not to do that?” Coral asked.
“Nope, she encouraged me too. It all starts with that plane crap.” Carrie said.
“And the smiley faces.” Destiny said.
“And the little trees and miniature cabbages.” Coral added.
“Yep, so may I continue?”
“Go ahead.” Destiny nodded.
“Chomp! Chomp! Chomp!” She continued her process.
“I think it’s dead, honey.” Coral said and gently removed the fork from Carrie’s hand.
“How am I supposed to eat?”
“I don’t know but by the looks people are giving you, I really don’t think they want you to hold any kind of sharp item in your hand.” Destiny said looking around at the wondering faces.
“But I’m hungry...”
“Oh don’t worry, I’m sure they serve food at the mental hospital.” Coral reassured her.
“Yeah, it may not be gourmet food but you know I’m sure you’ll enjoy the bread and water.” Destiny said.
“I’m not going if you aren’t.” Carrie insisted.
“Sure we’ll get neighboring padded cells.” Destiny suggested.
“Maybe we’ll get one of those ‘buy two get one free’ deals.” Coral said.
“I am so glad most of the people here don’t speak English.” Destiny said as she burst into a fit of giggles.
“I don’t think they need to understand what we’re saying to tell we’ve lost it.” They were still the center of attention.
“Maybe if we shut up for a while.” Carrie said and grabbed the fork from Coral’s hand.
“It’s a plan...” Destiny said.
“But I don’t think it’ll work.” She added in a whisper.
“So...have the waiters behind me regained the ability to move again?” Coral asked as she looked up from her plate.
“Whoa, they just did.” Destiny said looking up.
“I must be psycho.”
“We all knew that.” Carrie stated.
“What?” Coral said squinting her eyes in a confused manner.
Suddenly it hit her and she nervously bit her thumb’s nail.
“I meant psychic.” She said quietly.
“I think psycho fits better.” Destiny said.
“I second that.” Carrie said.
“I veto it.” Coral poked Carrie in the ribs.
“Two against one. We win.” Destiny said and kicked Coral lightly under the table.
“HEY!” Coral jumped back.
“No poking my political partner.” Destiny said trying to look as serious as possible.
“And what am I? Chopped liver?” Coral questioned
“No but it sure looks like you’re eating it.” Carrie said pointing at her friend’s plate.
“Ew...what am I eating anyway?” Coral questioned.
“You don’t know?” Destiny asked.
“Well, I thought I ordered fish but this don’t look like it or taste much like it...”
“And you’re still eating it?” Destiny asked in disgust.
“I was hungry...” Coral said, hanging her head in shame.
Destiny shook her head at the girl sitting across from her.
“Okay, yeah, it’s time to leave.” Carrie said as she noticed Coral was turning green.
“Holy...take her outside and I’ll pay.” Destiny said and they moved quickly to take care of Coral’s needs.
The day after, they found themselves in yet another airport. They were all used to the procedure and it was painless. Most of the people still weren’t awake at such an early hour. They were all in some sort of daze from the events they participated in the night before. It was actually over. A bittersweet feeling overtook them, although nobody said a word. They just gave eachother knowing glances. Before they knew it, they were on the plane and whoever dared, looked down at the disappearing view. The last leg of the tour was now completed and they’d actually have to deal with the life they have built for themselves in the past few months.
“Brian, Brian, BRIAN!” Brian winced at the overexcited voice.
“what? What? WHAT?” Brian said as his eyes flew open.
“Honey, we’re home!” Carrie said as she offered him a muffin.
“Well almost, we have like 15 minutes but I think that’s close enough.”
“Mmm.” He groggily said and grabbed the muffin from her hand angrily.
“Down boy.” Carrie said as she opened the shutter that covered the small airplane window. They were traveling through a blanket of clouds. However some rays did manage to invade their way through the clouds and shine brightly on passengers’ faces.
“No...turn off the sun.”
“Turn off the sun? I might be powerful but I’m not all mighty.” Carrie said.
Brian rolled his eyes and leaned over her and closed the shutter by himself.
“Okay, Mr. Grumpy, what’s wrong?”
“I’m tired. I didn’t sleep during this flight.”
“I’m sorry. Go back to sleep if you want.”
“Nah forget it. There’s no time left anyway.” He said and grabbed a stewardess by the dress.
“Uh..yes sir?” She asked trying to remain polite.
Brian let go of her.
“Yeah, could I possibly get a coffee?”
“Of course. Right away.” She smiled and departed from them.
“Oh she is so going to spit in that.” Carrie laughed to herself.
“She wouldn’t dare...”
“Brian, you grabbed her ass.”
“I touched the back of her skirt, it’s not exactly the same thing.”
“Mmhmm, we’ll see. If i was you, I’d be worried.”
The stewardess returned with an extra large cup filled with coffee.
“Thank you so much...” He gave her a fake smile. She nodded and returned to the front of the plane.
“Hey Nick, bro.” Brian said.
“Yeah?”
“Want this coffee?” Brian offered.
“Sure...” Nick said and grabbed the coffee from his friend.
“Smart move.” Carrie said and gave Brian a small high five.
