Chapter 3

A few days have passed since she left the Backstreet Tour. She moved to a different hotel and tried to keep busy. She finally had the time to explore Europe. On tour that was practically impossible but as much as she tried she just wasn’t able to really enjoy it. Deep down inside she knew that the only way to stop her guilty conscious was to sort this thing out with AJ. True, on tour she had other things and people to keep her busy but there were times when she just felt confused and guilty. To hide that she faked smiles, laughs and good moods. When she first met the guys, two minutes couldn’t have passed without her cracking a joke or laughing at one. She enjoyed their company. They were definitely special. AJ was different though, he was mysterious. His personality just attracted her. Her first instinct was to act on it, without even thinking, she just kissed him. Destiny couldn’t help but scold herself quietly. She was in the cab, on the way to the airport. She knew it was the time to go back home and continue her life. She couldn’t help ignore the fact that the driver was driving like a complete maniac on the road.
“Well, at least I’ll be there on time” she smirked
When the cab stopped the driver basically threw her suitcase out onto the pavement. She payed him and he was on his way.
She picked up her suitcase and started carrying it, well dragging it, into the building. The huge black suitcase looked like it was about to explode. One thing she never learned how to do was pack light. Even though this was her 3rd tour.

“Excuse me? Do you know where the British Airways desk is?” Destiny asked at the information desk.
“Down the hall, number 40,41,42 and 43" The woman said
“Thanks.”
Destiny started walking the oh so long hall dragging her suitcase behind her. The lines were really long. It took her a while to even find a flight back to the US. She couldn’t find a direct flight from Paris to Miami. She had a connecting flight through London. She always dreaded connecting flights when she was traveling. Usually she had to carry her suitcase off and on the plane each time they stopped. She was thankful that this time her suitcase was going straight to Miami. After checking in her suitcase she had to go through customs. She was used to the routine. She entered the other part of the airport soon later. Some people were rushing to board their flights. Others were sleeping on the chairs and couches around the airport but most of the people were in the gift shops. The gift shops were definitely the highlight of every airport. She walked over to a bookstore and looked at the magazines on the rack. One magazine’s headline caught her eyes. “Backstreet Boys delay their European tour” she read to herself. “What the heck?” She said loudly. People were starring at her. She just smiled an apologetic smile and they continued with their own business. Destiny quickly flipped through the pages and found the article and started reading it.

“Okay Nick, you know what? This is so ridiculous.” AJ said looking at his friend who was busy looking through the shelves of the store.
“No, it’s not. We are going to buy that new Nintendo, uh no my bad, you’re going to buy it.”
“Yeah, yeah, yeah I’ll buy it. It’s dumb though. We have other things to do. That’s WHY were going home, you know.
“Okay fine, you’re right. “
“I am?”
“Yeah. I’ll leave the Nintendo until everything works out.”
“Thank you God” AJ said looking up
“Very funny, Come on lets go back”
“I don’t believe we’re actually delaying our tour for her.”
“ It is kinda hard looking for a person and performing every night, don’t you think? Anyway, without her we’d look like idiots on stage”
“Nicky you always look like an idiot on stage”
“Hey!”
“Just kidding.”
“Sure.”
“No, I was.”
“Yeah, okay.” He said as they both left the store.
“But seriously Nick how do you know she’s back in the US?”
“And they say I’m the dumb one. AJ what does she have in Paris? Nothing. She doesn’t even know the language. Obviously she’s going to go back home.”
“Right” AJ nodded.
“Hold on, I wanna go get some chocolate first.”
AJ sighed.
They both turned around and started working towards the candy stand.

Destiny finished reading the article and was in shock. Why would anyone delay a tour for her? Was she actually that important to them? Quickly another thought came in her head, what if AJ told them about what she did? Like it wasn’t enough that she was already uncomfortable with one of them. She couldn’t bare being uncomfortable with all of them. Destiny walked out of the store and decided to go to her gate. Her flight wasn’t leaving for another hour but she didn’t really have anything else to do. The chairs were all occupied except 2 that were empty. The other chairs all had suitcases on them, she didn’t see anyone though. She sat in the two vacant seats and just starred outside at the planes.

Brian walked out of the bathroom and walked back to his seat. The other guys were around the airport looking around. He didn’t think it was that safe since they didn’t have any bodyguards with them. They made the press think that they were staying in Europe so people wouldn’t try to meet up with them in the airport but still he didn’t want to take any chances. Not that he didn’t like his fans, he loved them and knew he owed them everything but he was really tired. He missed Destiny. In time she became one of his best friends and the fact that she left without even telling him was very awkward to him. He walked over to his bag and saw someone sitting in his seat.
“Great...” he mumbled.
“Excuse me.” Brian said.
The girl didn’t budge.
“Excuse me?” He asked a little louder this time. Destiny turned around and Brian gasped. “Bri...Hey”
“Destiny!!” he yelled in excitement
She smiled and gave him a reassuring hug. “That’s mah name don’t wear it out” She quoted a line from Grease
He smiled.
“Why did you leave?”
“You don’t know?”
“I’m not going to lie, I do. But why did you feel you had to leave because of that?”
“It felt uncomfortable.”
“With us?”
“With AJ.”
“Please stay here.”
“Brian” she chuckled “I don’t want to stay in the airport.”
“Smartass”
“Yeah, anyway...I thought you were going to stay in Europe.”
“Wha? How did you know that?”
“It’s in basically every magazine.”
“Oh yeah. Well we were going to look for you.”
“That’s sweet.”
“But we found you.”
“Yeah I guess you’re stuck going to the US for no reason, so why don’t you go back and continue your tour?”
“We can’t”
“Why?”
“Well 2 reasons. First off, We weren’t only going to find you we were going to bring you back on tour with us, where you belong. Secondly, our bags are already checked in. Meaning if we left all our clothes would be in Miami.” He smiled.
“I missed you Bri.”
“I missed you too”
The two hugged again when they pulled back Nick and AJ were right behind them. It was time to face him. Deep down, they both knew that.
