Gideon Kimberly was born 15 March 1675 in Albermarle, Chown, North Carolina. He died 1727-8 in Newton, Fairfield, Connecticut. He was the son of Abraham Kimberly and Abigail Fitch who was the daughter of Thomas Fitch and Abigail Goodrich born 6 June 1683 in Wethersfield, Connecticut and died 1734 at Newton, Fairfield.
Abraham Kimberly was a blacksmith by trade. He married Mary Osborne 9 October 1735 in Newton, Fairfield, Connecticut. She was born 26 August 1715 in Stratford, Fairfield, Connecticut. She was the daughter of John OSBORN born: ABT. 1680 in Stratford, Fairfield, CT, and Prudence BLAGGE born: ABT. 1684 in Of Stratford, Fairfield, CT.

Administration on the estate of Gideon Kimberly of Norwalk, Fairfield County, Connecticut was granted on 20th day of February 1759, to Nathan Hubbel of Norwalk, with Seth Burr of Fairfield, surety. The widow was allowed necessaries and provision was made for one child who was eight months old at Gideon's death [Fairfield Probate District File 3620].
