Video Game Odds & Ends

Leftover Chi

[Wild Arms 2 - Playstation]

I discovered this back when I first got the game, which was probably about a year after release. Never saw anyone post about it and I always intended to make a video. Yet here I am 20ish years later finally chronicling it. I'm very my pace. :P

It looks like during translation they forgot to remove all the Japanese characters and this one got shifted somewhat off screen. Accidental mis-delete or something. Maybe they are all shifted off screen and you can't normally see them? No clue.

As you can see, the very top of the cursor is still visible within the confines of the window. I've never seen the name screen on the Japanese version. But since there are so many blank spaces on the English language version I am assuming that Japanese characters once resided there. The window is way too big for the letters and numbers present.

My research shows me that this is the hiragana "chi". I used to be better at recognising that stuff. Darn me to heck, right?

Directions on how to get the character to show up taken directly from the video description. I am too lazy to come up with new words to say the same thing. My pace. :P

"Just go down to the left arrow button and press left on the d-pad. The cursor will disappear. Now press up. You'll see the very top part of the cursor sticking up. Press X to input the hiragana. If you want to use it for some reason, it shows up properly and all that jazz."
