Where does Lune fit in? Let's not seriously explore some theories here. Kara's gotta be somebody's womb fruit right? It's not like Lune spontaneously generated her or grew her from a pod or something. Maybe he put out a personal ad or asked around for single ladies who wouldn't mind a lifetime of staring at that stupid neon codpiece. If he's still wearing that thing after 1000 years you know it's a lifetime commitment. That codpiece ain't going nowhere. So the wife is gonna have to get used to it. After awhile it just becomes invisible. You don't even notice it until someone points it out. And everyone will. Because it's like a blaring lime green crotch beacon. For all we know the damned thing glows in the dark.
Getting back to important game stuff, depending on Rhys' choice of bride, Kara will either be the princess version or the warrior version. Marrying Lena will always lead to princess Kara. While marrying Maia will always lead to warrior Kara. This is static and the version of Kara you will get in the third generation is locked in after you select a bride for Rhys. There is no randomness involved and the second generation marriage options won't change anything.
The princess path. Princess Kara is weaker physically but has heal and order techniques. I find healing the most useful of the tech sets because you are always using it. With such limited inventory space it's a real life saver. Rever is indispensable even with it's annoying failure rate a low levels. Moon Dew is expensive and only sold in Cille and Shusoran. If I remember correctly these towns are cut off in certain character routes and both Star Mist and Moon Dew are rare finds in chests. Over all I think I like this Kara a bit better just because of the healing abilities. Unfortunately this would be much more useful for Crys and Sean. Because princess Kara is present in a party where the only character who can't heal is Wren. It's a very fortunate party indeed.
The warrior path. This Kara is way stronger physically. But she doesn't have access to the heal tech set. I rarely use melee. Normally I just just give Wren max zan or gra distribution. I overlooked melee when I played as a kid because I didn't understand the distribution system. Plus when you start out the tech distribution shop is useless due to Orakians being unable to use techs. it's an honor reserved for Layans and cyborgs. So why do Orakian towns have tech distribution shops if the shopkeeper is human he can't even use techs anyway? So what makes him so knowledgeable with distributing them? Is he a cyborg? The only town with cyborgs roaming around is Hazatak. This all sounds like a Layan spy plot to me.
Warrior Kara may be stronger but she lacks healing techs. And man are you gonna need them for the endgame. Every character who can heal is an immense asset to the party once it starts really getting down to the wire. If you are playing as Crys he can only use the time tech set. That leaves you with only two healers, Mieu and Laya. If you are playing as Sean you fair a little better. Sean may be the weakest third generation hero but he can heal. Plus Laya and Mieu can as well.
Now it's not like you HAVE to possess an army of healers with you to win. But it sure helps. Especially if you have bad luck with the encounter rate and ambushes.
