Song of the Week: Justincase - Don't Cry For Us
No poll this week (again).

April 7, 2003 - breaking news
Man, this week is jam-packed with things to do. I'd rattle them off, but I don't think anyone will be too interested. I am still feeling overwhelmed and like I need a break, but let's make a deal: I'll only talk about that if my feelings change to something positive. As for other news, I saw some "Breaking News" announcements today... The media is scrounging for developments. The breaking news of the moment was "Sadam may have been in the place we just bombed, and if he was in there, he may have been injured, and if he was injured, he may have been killed... but no one knows his condition." Well, gee thanks CNN for that useless update. My website has more eventful content than that.

Quote of the Day - Erich Fromm

"Man's main task in life is to give birth to himself, to become what he potentially is."

April 8, 2003 - the fire within
Another drab day at school today... Work wasn't so bad since I can easily find ways to amuse myself. As far as family life goes, things are rather shaky at the moment as far as grandparents' health goes. Things are down, then up, then down again. Such is life, I guess. So vibrantly vivid, and yet sometimes it seems so dreadfully dreary.

-- And just like all other things, we too return to the ground. But the ground is not the important thing, no. The events of our lives have some significance, but in the big picture, they are also nothing. You see, beneath all the pain and struggle and daily occurances of every life lies something that defeats it all. And on a clear, crisp day, if you look at someone in just the right light, you may be able to catch a glimpse of the hidden emotion inside them. And this inner-peace we all store too returns to the earth in death. But do not misunderstand me, for the spirit does not die. The spirit of another or even of yourself can visit you once again when you least expect it.. perhaps on a clear, crisp day, when you're looking in the eyes of someone new and see the same glimmer you swear you saw once before. And herein lies the truth about life: Nothing ever goes away...Nothing that really matters, at least. --

An ominous July sunset... Probably my favorite month of the year, now that I think of it.

Quote of the Day - Gloria Swanson

"Never say never, for if you live long enough, chances are you will not be able to abide by its restrictions. Never is a long, undependable time, and life is too full of rich possibilities to have restrictions placed upon it."
...earth to earth, ashes to ashes, dust to dust...

April 9, 2003 - dah!
My feelings are shooting in every direction at the moment... lately I've been taking a step back and looking at everything and I just don't know what I want anymore. I'm being crushed and still need to relax! Life just feel's so "complicated" at the moment (avril in 6 days!). My emotions are leading me down a path I'm hesitant to take.

Now that the horrible dictator Sadam is being taken out of power, Iraqis can once again enjoy Skittles.

Guestbook Quote of the Day - Punchline, via Chris

"I hope that you're listening.....confusions persistent.......your problems will solve themselves."

April 10, 2003 - sexy llama beard
Counting down 8 more days until break... and it is a well-deserved/anticipated one at that. Ever spend a lot of time anticipating something, or even a little time... and then it doesn't happen? It kind of feels like getting hit in the face with a shovel. But yeah, enough about that for now. Tonight's the school Achievement Banquet. For those of you who don't know, it's a very boring experience for the most part.. I'm just hoping Steve-O and I (and whatever else hooligan's who decide to sit with us) can manage to amuse ourselves.

You know what they say: "Honesty is the best policy."

Lyric of the Day - #41 by Dave Matthews Band

"All at once the ghosts come back."

April 11, 2003 - a change will do you good
You know that phrase you say when things seem to be going wrong or something? I think Ricky Ricardo used to say it, I'm not sure though. But yeah, I realized today that I don't exactly know how to write it out... it's like "ai yai yai" or "uy yuy yuy" or whatever. Well, either way, that's the phrase going through my head at the moment. I feel like I'm almost falling apart but some strange force is somehow keeping me together, a force similar to one created by electrostatic attraction that holds my atoms and molecultes together. Enough of that, I'm out for now.

A shot of the Egg Nebula in polarized light... the central star is slowly transforming into a White Dwarf as it casts off visible "shells" of gas and dust.

Quote of the Day - Henry Wadsworth Longfellow

"All things must change to something new, to something strange."

April 12, 2003 - thinking about thinking
Sometimes, life becomes so hectic, so seemingly unbearable, that we begin to lose sight of what's going on around us. But today, as I travelled to Mayfield High School on the bus with jazz band, I spent a lot of time thinking... just about life in general. Everyone has such different thoughts going through their heads, and you never know *exactly* what anyone else is thinking. Anyways, that train of thought is heading nowhere, so I'm off to think again.

Quote of the Day - Matt Groening

"Love is a perky elf dancing a merry little jig and then suddenly he turns on you with a miniature machine gun."
