Song of the Week: The Wallflowers - Laughing Out Loud

July 13, 2003 - tuna
Stephanie's graduation party is today, so I'll be getting ready to attend that in a few minutes. Only a bit more than a month til I'm off to college, so I best be saying my goodbyes (though I'm not going very far). I called it an early night last night, and after I played Mega Man 1, I decided to watch the German film Run Lola Run (which was mentioned to me by Becky). It was a very cool movie, I recommend it to anyone willing to read subtitles. It really reminds me of my whole 'no coincidences' and 'days happen more than once' philosophy from roundabout a year ago. Anyways, I'm off for some congraduations.

Interesting Fact of the Day

At any given time, 3 percent of the world's population is saying, "tuna".

July 14, 2003 - i'm gonna bounce
Not a whole lot of news today. I spent most of my afternoon playing Nintendo games with Brian... mainly Bubble Bobble, the amazing arcade-style game. Speaking of which, as soon as I win my next ebay auction, my Megaman collection will be complete! Games 1-6 baby! (I know, I know, I'm a nerd). Well, I'm about to grab a bite to eat with the gang and maybe go see LXG. If I do, I'll let you know how it was tomorrow.

Movie Quote of the Day - Changing Lanes

"It's like seeing someone for the first time...you know, passing them on the street. And you kinda look at each other for a few seconds, like a recognition... like you both know something. And the next moment, the person is gone. And you always remember it...it was there and you let it go. And you think, What if I had stopped? What if I had said something?"

July 15, 2003 - i'm from the future
I saw The League of Extraordinary Gentlemen last night... It was decent. The animation of Mr. Hyde was a bit fake-looking... and I enjoyed the ending as much as I liked the ending of Hulk. Overall, I liked the concept, and I'm always a fan of teams of people with superpowers (like the Justice League). I wouldn't say it's a "not worth seeing" movie... but I'd definitely stick it in the Matinee file.  In site news, Angelfire has been really slow lately as far as uploading and such go. It's been rather irritating, hence why I'm not uploading most of my updates until almost the day after the update day. Alas, I shall deal with it for now. More tomorrow.

"You come from the Future. Your soul came from a different time, far in the future. You're just a little bit a head of everyone else and you're constantly wondering what lies ahead."

Lyric of the Day - "Beautiful Boy" by John Lennon

"Life is just what happens to you while your busy making other plans."

July 16, 2003 - well, well, well
Dah! I've been wating for two weeks now for my AP test results, and they're not here... My scheduling stuff for case is due in two days, and I don't know what classes to sign up for because I don't know what I got on my APs!!! Gah!!!!!! I'm just slightly frustrated. You know what's dumb? I have to take a Physical Education course. For zero credits. Why? I don't get it. I'm just going to take a stupid class that requires little physical activity. It's basically like them saying, "Hey Ross... We know you are going to have a tight schedule with classes, work, and studying, but how about you let us waste your time for two hours a week? No? Too bad, you have to." I mean, yes they have good phys ed classes to offer... but the point is, I don't really want to take one. So it looks like I'll be signing up for "Wellness". Sounds good to me, I could use a little wellness right about now.

Quote of the Day - Valvlav Havel

"The truth is not simply what you think it is; it is also the circumstances in which it is said, and to whom, as well as why and how it is said."

July 17, 2003 - the big picture
So now that I've calmed down from my frustrated college-scheduling mood, I've changed my mind about courses I'm going to take, and I've decided to rethink my semester plan and for once look at the big picture. I want to take courses conducive to a possible dual major of Mathematics and Computer Science (I will refer to thie double major as "Geekocity"). So yeah, I'll be dropping off my Case stuff tomorrow at Case, since it won't arrive quickly enough by mail. Once I figure out my tentative schedule, I'll post it here for all to see.

July 18, 2003 - hair today, gone tomorrow
Finally, I have my schedule pretty much finalized, and boy, is it dreadful! Here's what I have lined up:
  • Calculus II -- MWF 8:30-9:20, T 11:35-12:25
  • General Psychology I -- MWF 10:30-11:20
  • Introduction to Sociology: Human Interaction -- MWF 12:30-1:20
  • Astronomy: The Sun & Its Planets -- TR 10:00-11:15
  • Elementary Computer Programming -- TR 2:45-4:00, W 2:30-3:20
  • Physical Education: Wellness (BLAH) -- TR 1:15-2:15
Sounds thrilling, eh? If I could get rid of sociology and phys ed, or even just phys ed, I would do so in a heartbeat.
