Song of the Week: Michelle Branch - Leap of Faith

October 12, 2003 - back again
Yikes! Last week held only three updates of therosser! That's rather pathetic... But never fear, I'll try to update more consistently this week.

Tonight I went to see Ruet Caelum's show at the Grog Shop. It's safe to say that they rocked the place! Those boys are definitely going places. And as for me, I have a bunch of homework to take care of, and a bunch of midterms to prepare for this week. On top of that, I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow so we can try and get the inside scoop on what to scoop out of my insides. But after that and the midterms on Tuesday and Wednesday, I won't have much to worry about... I'm going down to Columbus on Saturday, and to top that off, I get two days off of school next week. So it will definitely rock.

October 13, 2003 - searching for a sign
Just to keep y'all updated on my physical status. I had an appointment today with another doctor about my whole appendix thing. Apparently, I have some kind of funky thing in my terminal ilium...It's on my x-ray thing, and it's possibly a cyst or just some weird deformity. Nothing to sweat too much, though. So I'm gonna go for some blood work on Wednesday, and depending on the results from that, as well as the pathology report from my appendix, I may have to undergo another procedure to fix whatever's wrong. But I'm cool with all that, you gotta do what you gotta do. And hey, even if something is wrong with me.. it'll all come out in the wash.

If y'all read the guestbook, you'll notice many people now have blogs to read... IF YOU HAVE A BLOG and are willing to have a link to it put on my "misc" page, let me know, and I'll be more than happy to put it up there. It's just one more way we can all keep in touch.

Alright, must be off now to do homework.

Heh, all the ladies out there are gonna be jealous. Yes, this is a picture of Ewan McGregor, but look more closely... See that hair on the right? That's my mom's hair. She saw Ewan in person in New York, and even got his autograph. And a little piece of trivia I got from her: He's shorter than me, measuring at about 5'10.5".

Quote of the Day
- RealLivePreacher.com Weblog, February 13, 2003

"Most of us are on a journey. We’re looking for something, though we’re not always sure what that is. The way is foggy much of the time. I suggest you slow down and follow some of the side roads that appear suddenly in the mist."

October 14, 2003 - private matters
Ah yes, another lovely Tuesday. Not really a whole lot of news at the moment, except for the fact that I can't WAIT for fall break this weekend. It's gonna be splediferous. I have Sociology and Psychology tests tomorrow, and then an Astronomy quiz on Thursday, but after those, I'm pretty much home free! Woo hoo!

Today in both my wellness teacher and a psychology survey brought up the idea of privacy... How private of a person do you think you are? First of all, physically would you rather be alone, have your own room, have a bathroom just for you? And how about emotionally? Do you share most of your feelings, or do you hide them? If you don't share ALL your feelings, which ones do you tend to hide and why? Heh, I feel like I'm some kind of essay prompt or something. Those are just some of the questions I was indirectly asked today... Just something to think about, I guess.

I don't remember exactly what she looked like, but I found this picture on my hard drive, and I'm pretty sure it's Tara. So Happy Birthday Tara!

Quote of the Day
- Eric Hoffer

Our greatest pretenses are built up not to hide the evil and the ugly in us, but our emptiness. The hardest thing to hide is something that is not there.

October 15, 2003 - it makes my blood boil
So I just got back from my blood test. Man, after all that time in the hospital and them having to take like 3 samples of blood a day, today's blood test was like NOTHING. I barely even felt the little needle go into me... Afterwards, the nurse told me that my blood seemed unusually warm when it came out of my body. I guess that's just because I'm such a warm-hearted person. (face.)

Anyway, I took a Psychology midterm and Sociology quiz today. I don't feel like I did like amazingly well on my Psychology midterm... I mean, I think I did alright, but perhaps I would have done better if my studying process wasn't "Step 1: Play Games on the computer; Step 2: Talk to people online; Step 3: Watch TV; Step 4: Look at 15 pages of "Key Objectives" an hour before the test.". But alas, maybe I'll study a bit better for my final.

Alright, I guess that's all for now... I'm really enjoying reading what people have to say in the guestbook and moreso in their own personal blogs.... Now if only Larry would bring back LarryWorld.

Ah yes... America's tax dollars at work.  I really can't wait for those 2006 results.

October 16, 2003 - killing time by saving lemmings
Not a whole lot going on today... I've spent most of my day juggling homework and playing the computer game Lemmings... Man, that game ROCKS!

--Heh, I wrote the above like 4 hours ago, but I never finished what I was saying because I felt like playing more Lemmings, and after that I finished my homework. So it's now 12:45, and past October 16, but I figured I might as well just upload this now since I already did it. More tomorrow.

October 17, 2003 - when worlds collide
So today on my way home from class, I was thinking about the whole LiveJournal explosion that's occurring at the moment.... So here's my two cents: I think there's a dual reasoning for someone to have a livejournal... First, he knows that his old friends will want to know what he's up to. But perhaps combined with that is a feeling of being in a new place, surrounded by people who don't know him half as well as the people he knew before. Thus, he has relatively few (if any) people  to explain his inner thoughts and promptings to.  So the internet and that journal becomes an outlet for emotion... and the journal is public because the writer knows that somewhere out there someone who knows him is reading what he has to say and understanding it.  Then again, that's just my take... perhaps livejournaling is just the hip thing to do.

Ever wonder how the moon formed? Astronomers today believe that the moon may have formed as a result of a collision about 4.5 billion years ago. They think that a Mars-sized planet collided with Earth, causing both planets to basically liquify. The matter slowly settled down and collected to form Earth (which gained some mass) with a ring of matter around it, which slowly condensed to form our Moon.

How well do you know baws films?

October 18, 2003 - ROCK!
Man, I had such a rockin' Friday. Larrold, Scott, and I went to see "School of Rock"... I highly recommend it! So after that, Larry went to D&D, and Scott and I headed back to his house for a "jam session"-- just like old times. It was kind of like I went two years back in time to the pre-Yo! era... when Scott and I were just two schmucks fiddling around on our guitars for the fun of it. So then, continuing on our trip back in time, Joe headed over, and the three of us went and grabbed a bite to eat... It was very reminiscent of the "Summer of Fun 2001"... All in all, it was an excellent evening.

And now, moving on from that virtual trip to sophomore year, I'm now getting ready to take a physical trip to OSU. So yeah, Milda, Larry, and I are gonna go down to Columbus and have a blast with Ashley... Alright, well I'm off to go get ready for the exciting journey. Adios for now!

Well I don't have too much time to search for an amazing IOTD, but I was just thinking about this the other day: Was anyone else a fan of "The Sifl & Olly Show" besides me?!? Most people either have never heard of it or if they have, they thought it was really dumb. Personally, I thought it was a very enjoyable sock puppet TV show.

Quote of the Day - Jim Morrison

"I see myself as a huge fiery comet, a shooting star. Everyone stops, points up and gasps 'Oh look at that!' Then whoosh, and I'm gone...and they'll never see anything like it ever again... and they won't be able to forget me, ever."
