Song of the Week: Dean Martin - Baby It's Cold Outside

December 14, 2003 - it's a date
So last night was a good time... Hung out with Scott and Joe, just like old times (Summer of Fun 2001). We saw Bad Santa, which actually wasn't too bad of a movie. It was funny, and it had a good ending, so a lighthearted thumbs up on that (though it doesn't compare to Elf). Also, we put up our Christmas tree today, and it looks fabulous. I'll put up a shot of it later on in the week.

If you're ever at a restaurant waiting for food, a really fun game to play (*sarcasm*) is Guess The Date. I started playing this with Brian, Joe, and Larry, and now it's sweeping the nation (like the movie Men With Brooms). One person at the table picks a date between January 1, 1000, and December 31, 3000, and then everyone goes around the table guessing the date, and all that the first person replies is "earlier" or "later". Believe me, this game is family fun for everyone.

Here's a wonderful product for those militant anti-santa activists. Hang this lovely "noosed santa" in your home to let the real Santa know that you don't want any of his Christmas cheer within a 50 meter radius of your home.

Quote of the Day  - Jim Bishop
The future is an opaque mirror. Anyone who tries to look into it sees nothing but the dim outlines of an old and worried face.

December 18, 2003 - return of the rosser
"So Ross.. where have the updates been lately?"
"Well, I've been really busy, I haven't really had time to update."
"You've been soooo busy that you're not even able to go on your computer for the ten minutes it takes to update each day?"
"Well, no, I'm online, but I'm usually doing other things and I don't have images of the day."
"So you're never just doing NOTHING? And furthermore, it's your site, and while yes, the images of the day are a key feature, you could really put up just about anything. I mean, you used to put pictures of stars and landscapes and stuff, and maybe that stuff wasn't funny or out-of-the-ordinary, but you could still put it up. Nowadays it seems like all you put up are comics and funny articles."
"Yeah, I could do that, but even aside from the images of the day, I just don't have a whole lot to write at the top, and I can't really think of anything."

I think you get the point, I'll stop there. That conversation never actually occured, and I hope it doesn't. Ever met someone that always seems to have an excuse for something? There's always a reason for why they don't do something, why they can't be somewhere, why they aren't able to achive what they (or someone else) wants. I dunno, while yes I am sure there are times I have projected something that was my fault onto external factors, I really try to avoid that kind of thing, and I tend to admit it if I am at fault for something. So that said, the reason I haven't updated is because I chose not to out of my own laziness/lack of desire. But I'm updating now.

Man, this goes without saying, but ROTK was wicked awesome. (Yes, I said "wicked awesome.) If you have not seen it, stop reading this right now and go see it. Seriously, turn off your computer and go.

LOTR Movie Quote of the Day  - Aragorn
"I see in your eyes the same fear that would take the heart of me. A day may come when the courage of Men fail.... when we forsake our friends, and break all bonds of fellowship, but it is not this day. This day, we fight!"
