Song of the Week: Sinéad O'Connor - I Believe In You

December 21, 2003 - one two two one
With four days until its arrival, Christmas is swiftly approaching. It's weird to think that this will be the twentieth Christmas I'll experience. Brian and I were talking about last week the change we went through at some point during that span of Christmases. Back in the day, I would run down the stairs Christmas morning and tear through my presents, thrilled at what I got that year. I couldn't wait until Christmas because I couldn't wait to get presents. Nowadays though, Christmas has become more about getting people presents... I'm less excited about what I might get, and more excited about getting people stuff. Perhaps it's because I now have the funds to buy people things, or because I can now drive to get presents on my own. I dunno... Anyway, that's all for now.

Heh, I had been saving this picture on my computer for quite some time just for this day...
Happy Birthday Kristin!

December 23, 2003 - christmas eve eve
Hmm... not a whole lot to say on my part, so today I'll just pose a question that was posed to me a few nights ago: Who in your life do you admire most? I'm still thinking about that one... but when I start thinking about it, I start thinking about me as a person; I start thinking about influences on my life... I see parts of many people reflected in myself, and it's sometimes hard to pinpoint where I get certain things... anyway, I don't know where I was going with that.

On another note, ever meet someone who always seems to have something to be upset about? It's like every glass is half-empty or something... Many people end up missing out on happiness because they're so caught up in being upset and bothered by something at all times. Alright, those are the thoughts of the day.

December 25, 2003 - white christmas
To some, Christmas is a religious festival, to othersm, it's a time for giving and receiving gifts, but I think for most people it's a time of togetherness... It's a time to be close to family and friends, and it's also a time to be close to people you don't know as well.. if that makes sense. I feel like sometimes people get frustrated and impatient around this time, rather than relaxed and courteous. I mean, we've all seen this scenario: Someone goes shopping at a store, and it's crowded, and they get annoyed and roll their eyes at people, then they get in a long line and complain that it's long, and then they act completely rude to the cashier. I don't really know where I'm going with this, except that I suggest that each of us try to breathe and relax a bit around the holidays and rather than run on stress and haste, take in a little good will and christmas cheer as fuel. And that's all I have to say about that... well, except for (in the style of Larry):

MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

No wonder I didn't get any presents under my tree this morning...

December 26, 2003 - 'twas the night after christmas
Well, overall I had a lovely Christmas. I spent most of the day with the family and most of the night with the guys (Joe, Larry, and Brian, that is). I got everything that I wanted, including things not on my list, which was nice. I'll spare y'all the details, but it was a good holiday. Today, I went to the mall thinking that everyone would have done all their shopping before Christmas and no one would be shopping today... but I forgot that I'm an idiot and that the mall would be insanely crowded. Ah well, it was a good time anyway. I also went to Best Buy, where I decided I want one of those hip HP photo printers for my digital camera... so I'll be going next week to get one when (hopefully) they are in stock. Okay, enough said today, adios.
