Conquering Life


Life can defeat the strongest of all men,
his puzzled mind exhausts his troubled soul.
He seeks a method to begin again,
But each attempt just leaves him more un-whole.
He tries to talk to God, he goes to church,
he buys new clothes as if they'll change his life.
But every step along his hopeless search
Will not relieve an ounce of inner strife.
When all external transformations fail,
he takes his next step in the right direction.
His inner person now he must unveil;
At last he takes a look at his reflection.
A change within is like no other kind,
Reshaping soul and altering the mind.
