The Super Bullies
This is a story based on a somewhat bad dream I had On May 12, 2004*. In this dream, I made up the beginning scenario up to the point noted. This story is about 82% accurate, though it seems more complete mainly because I've enhanced the story from forgotten parts. The beginning part, the fire exit stairs, the school bus, how I got to my house, and the final set of bullies throwing rocks were all made up and done so to enhance the story, though the basic idea on what the dream was about is untouched.
Though much of the beginning part of the dream cannot be recalled, but here's the setting: I'm in a school with 5 floors. There's tons of stairs everywhere. It's during the day when hardly anyone is there except staff.
In the beginning of what I can recall, I was walkin' along the hallways just about to leave the school and suddenly a staff members jumps right out in front of me blocking my way. No matter what I did to get around him, he'd block my way. I turned back, jumped and glid** away from him. I reached the wall until a student bully I knew well came. The bully almost pushed me over, but he didn't exert enough force. I jumped up and glide back the way I came where the staff guy was ready to block me again. Just before I got to him, I suddenly turned and went around him faster than he could get in my way and then he started chasing after me. After losing all my altitude, I was sliding along the carpet at 20 mph coming to a stop. Another one of my bullies appeared then another. I was caught for sure. I saw the stairs and jumped up all them at once*** getting a running start before jumping.
There were more stairs to reach the second floor. The bullies were still following climbing up the stairs. I got another running jump and I saw another staff member at the top of the stairs. This one was friendly. [S]he pointed in the direction I should go and I went in that direction. There were two arguing staff there. Now for the part of the dream I can recall.
The two staff members were calling me. I went there. They told me this:
"Why haven't you got your homework done?", the one closest to the doorway said.
"I've been getting it done." I replied in a not-so-friendly way.
"Obviously you haven't as your [subject name]† teacher said so."
"How's that possible!? I've handed in that big report and I saw the teacher look at it."
"The teacher said that you haven't! Turn in your homework!"
"I did, it's sittin' right on the teacher's desk. She's just not even looking at it!"
Then those bullies got up the stairs still trying to creep up on me. They suddenly started to dash toward me. I started to charge forward leaving the bullies behind. I then entered the gym. It was dark inside the gym, but with an adequate amount of light that you can still see in there quite clearly. There was somebody standing there. In the gym, which was three stories high, the man lead me to an area where there were more stairs. The area in which I could use my high-jumping skills seemed as if using my jumping ability was impossible without having to go through a solid object: the ceiling. I told the man that I had to take a detour. I then looked up. I saw an easily recognized deck. I jumped onto there. However, reaching the top from here was not possible. In order to get to the top deck to where the guy was going, I needed to glide through a really small gap which was too risky for injury. Because of the bullies outside the gym, I couldn't use those stairs, which were far more suitable. There were no elevators so my only option was the stairs. I had to obviously figure out the bullies.
Suddenly, I found a different exit. Though it was a fire exit, the door was unlocked and open. I entered it and found... more stairs. However, there was a gap in the center. I suddenly saw the bullies come into the gym, so I entered the area really quickly. I did a few test jumps to make sure I was in the center area. The moment I did my real jump, the bullies opened the fire escape door just to see me heading straight up. At the top of my 34-foot jump, I glid toward the door on the higher level and landed. I went out that exit and saw the guy I needed to follow. He showed me another door. This one lead to the roof and one more flight of stairs. Realizing that climbing the stairs was impossible, again, I had to take yet another alternative route. This time I was out of luck.
The bullies suddenly appeared where I was opening the door to the fire exit. I jumped over the edge and used the fall-glide‡ to soften the landing. Since I was now clear of bullies, I raced out of the gym and out of the building as fast as I could go. To go faster than what I could run, I glid over the area. This way, instead of going about 12 mph using lots of stamina, I could reach close to about 25 to 30. Once I got too low, I leveled out and pulled up a bit to try to keep my 25 mph. Then, when I was about to need to land, I pulled up as high as I could go then dropped. I opened the doors to the school and exitted once and for all.
Though this isn't the end of the story, there was a little more to happen yet. Unfortunately, I don't remember what happened and how I got home, but I did arrive home. I then saw my yellow school bus as it was just about to leave as I was really late. Just as I ran close to it, the bus left without me, thus I had absolutely no transportation to get home, which, in this dream, was ten miles away. To walk that far, I'd need three hours' time! I looked up at the school and jumped onto the roof. Sure was a nice view from up there. Yet, there was a place on this school that was much higher, about another 7 stories higher. They seemed to be large smoke stacks without any smoke coming out of them and about 7 or 8 feet in diameter. They also had a ladder on the side of them that was actually a part of this high-rise objects. No need for the ladder as my jumps were just as effective, but far faster. I jumped up on top of one of the three that were there. They seemed to all be the same height, so I picked the one I was closest to. I then tried to get a bearing on my direction. I jumped a full 91 2/3 feet, used the flash attack†† to get a big 366 2/3-foot boost. I glid toward the direction of my house following the road and land marks. Just as I made the final turn and the 3/4-mile stretch of road, I put on my gliding brakes to slow down. I slew down too much that I fell. I was only about 100 feet from the entrance to my house. I jumped up and glid to where the entrance was and I entered the house.
Unfortunately, no one was home, but then there was apparently some machine on the wall that indicated my speed and position and a USA map that showed my exact location. Indeed, it was active and running. Now how this thing could trace where I was going, that I didn't know. It seemed suspicious. I left the house and saw five of my worst bullies. They had a wheel barrow full of rocks and started to throw them at me. I jumped my 91 2/3 foot maximum and started to glide. Not one rock hit me. I then landed at a distance from them, but far enough so that I can see them. I casted a thunder spell on the bullies and made them fall from the injury. Finally, I jumped and glid almost due east.
I saw that in some point, someone came to my house and then looked at the map. They were shocked to see that I was going 150 mph and still accelerating. It was some time later that I pulled up as I got too low and started to glide forward again. Though I woke up, I didn't get to see what happened, I knew I was gliding over Wisconsin at 800 mph still heading east.
Notes on story: This was a story based purely on a somewhat bad dream I had. The actual events are about 82% accurate, which is about average for most of my dreams. The beginning part and in one other area is not certain as I don't remember what happened. I made up events to make a more complete story. The beginning part, the fire exit stairs, the school bus, how I got to my house, and the final set of bullies throwing rocks were all made up and done so to enhance the story, though the basic idea is untouched.
Footnotes:
* This is one of many strange dreams I've had. To read about them, read this.
** The glide ability is something used both in my mind game and stories. It allows constant acceleration at 5 mph per second to up to 800 mph top speed. It's almost like flying but utilizes gravity to pull you forward, not down. It becomes ineffective in mediums at 1.4 atmospheres [the density of the atmosphere at sea level times 1.4; drag can be entirely eliminated up to this density. This means that gliding will not work underwater effectively [the faster you go, the slower your deceleration is, again, limited to 800 mph.].
*** The maximum height of the jumps is actually 91 2/3 feet. You start at 50 mph and you decelerate at 20 mph per second to 0 mph.
† [note about the [subject name] item in first conversation]
‡ The fall-glide, seemingly similar to the normal glide, is used in my mindgame mostly rarely in my stories. This ability reduces the force of gravity, but eliminates drag with mediums up 1.4 atmospheres. It allows constant acceleration to be at 5 mph per second. Glide is used for forward acceleration, but the fall-glide is used to cut down on the falling acceleration.
†† The flash attack is a special ability that forces the surrounding medium to give you a very sudden burst of speed adding 100 mph in any direction. For example, if you were travelling 200 mph going straight up, and use the flash attack to go up, you'll boost to 300 mph. Use it to go down, you'll drop to 100 mph still going up. However, if you were to use it to go straight across, say north, you'd have 200 going up and 100 going north, a net velocity of 223 3/5 mph going north and 63 7/16° up from the horizon [These fractions are rounded to the nearest common fraction‡†.].
‡† Nearest common fractions are used to provide great accuracy, but great simplicity. To learn more, read the FAQ page.
