Wonderful, wonderful, fortunate you, This is the year that your dreams come true!
This is the year that your ships come in; This is the year you find joy within.
This is the year you are glad to live; This is the year you have much to give.
This is the year when you know the Truth; This is the year when you find new youth.
This is the year that brings happiness; This is the year you will live to bless.
Wonderful, wonderful, fortunate you, This is the year that your dreams come true!
As nice and as positive as this is, we know that it is not going to be true for everyone. Why? Because they lacked belief (faith). That is still the missing key for many people. Without faith, you're headed for another major disappointment. But with faith, miracles can happen; and if you have belief/faith, and with passion and discipline, ACT upon it (faith without works is dead), this really can be your year of blessing, just as the poem says! It's your choice! Keep telling yourself, Russell Kemp
It takes strength to be firm,
It takes courage to be gentle.
It takes strength to stand guard,
It takes courage to let down your guard.
It takes strength to conquer,
It takes courage to surrender.
It takes strength to be certain,
It takes courage to have doubt.
It takes strength to fit in,
It takes courage to stand out.
It takes strength to feel a friend's pain,
It takes courage to feel your own pain.
It takes strength to hide your own pains,
It takes courage to show them.
It takes strength to endure abuse,
It takes courage to stop it.
It takes strength to stand alone,
It takes courage to lean on another.
It takes strength to love,
It takes courage to be loved.
It takes strength to survive,
It takes courage to live.
Someone told me that blind people need to realize their limitations;
but I think it's more exciting to realize my potential.
- Erik Weihenmayer (This is the blind fellow who climbed El Capitan...the 3000 foot sheer rock face in Yosemite.)
There was a little boy with a bad temper. His father gave him a bag of nails and told him that every time he lost his temper, to hammer a nail in the back fence. The first day the boy had driven 37 nails into the fence. Then it gradually dwindled down. He discovered it was easier to hold his temper than to drive those nails into the fence.
Finally the day came when the boy didn't lose his temper at all. He told his father about it, and the father suggested that the boy now pull out one nail for each day that he was able to hold his temper. The days passed and the young boy was finally able to tell his father that all the nails were gone.
The father took his son by the hand and led him to the fence. He said, "You have done well, my son, but look at the holes in the fence. The fence will never be the same. When you say things in anger, they leave a scar just like this one. You can put a knife in a person and draw it out: It won't matter how many times you say I'm sorry, the wound is still there. A verbal wound is as bad as a physical one. Friends are a very rare jewel, indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear, they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to us.
It is not what we eat but what we digest that makes us strong; not what we gain but what we save that make us rich; not what we read but what we remember that makes us learned; and not what we profess but what we practice that gives us Integrity.

When health is lost, something is lost;
When character is lost, all is lost.
