Gordon Hinckley’s formula on how to decide whether or not to say something to or about a person requires that you ask yourself:

• Is it true?
• Is it kind?
• Is it necessary?

If it doesn’t fit all three criteria, don’t say it!

• There are no traffic jams going the extra mile.
• Hard work never hurt anyone, but it sure has scared a lot.
• A rumor is like a check – never endorse it until you know it’s genuine.
• Worry is the interest paid for those who borrow trouble.
