"THE COMING STORM"

On October 5, 2017, President Trump met with his senior military staff to discuss ISIS, Iran, Afghanistan and North Korea. Following this meeting a dinner was held with his military staff and their spouses during which they also discussed the above. There was a group photo op which the President referred to as "the calm before the storm." When asked, he would not explain what he meant by the coming storm, but responded, "You'll find out."

"My desire is to bring historical perspective to the turbulent events in the United States and Biblical perspective to inform the saints where I think this is all heading.

"We are in a time of great deception and must understand how to interpret current events according to Scripture and how Bible prophecy is being fulfilled.  Failure to properly interpret end-time events according to God's Word has made the Church vulnerable to deception and large numbers of Christians are being exploited by deceivers to fulfill their anti-Christian agenda."  -- Watch-unto-prayer.org

1)  Nikki Haley's Sudden Exit Leaves DC on Edge

United Nations Ambassador Nikki Haley unexpectedly resigned Tuesday— leaving both foreign diplomats and members of the Trump administration surprised by the sudden, mysterious move.

Neither congressional Republicans nor Secretary of State Mike Pompeo nor some key US allies got advance word from Haley or the White House of the resignation, effective at the end of the year.

President Trump and Haley offered no specific reasons for the surprise move as they sat together during a White House meeting Tuesday, where they lavished praise on each other and Haley insisted she has no 2020 presidential ambitions...

 2)  Hillary Clinton's Security Clearance Withdrawn at Her Request

Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's security clearance was withdrawn by the State Department at her request, according to a letter from the agency to the Senate Judiciary Committee.

The letter, dated Sept. 21 and published Friday by the Republican chair of the committee, Sen. Chuck Grassley, does not detail why Clinton made the request, except that she did so on Aug. 30. An aide to Clinton did not respond to a request for comment.

3) Lawrence Solomon: The Real Reason for Trump's Steel Tariffs: He's Preparing for War

President Trump’s decision to apply steep tariffs to steel imports on grounds of national security met with a loud chorus of protests at home and abroad, by many trying to divine what could ...

"Trump is old enough to know that during the Korean War, president Harry Truman seized the U.S. steel industry to maintain production for America’s then-vulnerable wartime economy. During the Second World War, when the U.S. dominated the world’s steel production, rationing was nevertheless needed — the public was even exhorted to donate their automobile bumpers to the war effort as scrap steel."

4) Trump Wants Chinese Parts Out of American Weapons

"The only reason the Pentagon would want to rewrite their supply chains and become less reliant on the rest of the world is that they see a war on the horizon. War tends to disrupt global trade, the US government is now preparing for conflict by securing its supply chains."  -- DefenceOne

5)  The White House is Marching Toward War With Iran

"There is a very real possibility that Donald Trump will start a new war in the Middle East. If that’s not his intention, then his administration is doing a damn good  job of faking it."  -- Joe Cirincione

In July, in a late-night tweet from the White House, President Trump threatened Iran, in all caps, with “CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED.” Since that rant, Trump’s National Security Advisor John Bolton and his Secretary of State Mike Pompeo seem to be taking pages from the Iraq War playbook. They are cherry-picking intelligence and inflating threats. They’re making specious connections between Iran and terrorists, including al-Qaeda and the Islamic State.  And they’re ratcheting up their rhetoric." -- Defence One

This, says Cirincione, became further evident during Trump's speech before the UN General Assembly last week.

Trump himself used his speech before the United Nations on September 25 to, as Mitchell Plitnick noted on this site, “build the case for aggression against Iran and even to add more obstacles to a peaceful resolution of tensions between the United States and the Islamic Republic.” These tensions are about to get worse. In early November, the administration will hit countries doing business with Iran with a new round of harsh sanctions. The likelihood that this pressure will explode into military conflict is rising dramatically.

6 Canadian Army Mounts Major Recruitment Drive

The Canadian Army is looking to add more than 1,000 new recruits to its reserves over the next few years, largely by slashing the amount of time it takes to join.

It’s a potential boon for one of Alberta’s major reserve forces — 41 Canadian Brigade Group — which held an open house in Edmonton on Saturday in a bid to bring on more members.

“It seems like every trade is hiring, and it seems like everyone’s keen for recruits.”

The Devil's anvil: B61-12

Comment:  Production run of 400 planned for this nuke (new) upgrade.  If a nuke is to be used in future conflict(s), the B61-12 is mostly likely candidate for reasons given below.

President Trump threatened Iran, in all caps, with “CONSEQUENCES THE LIKES OF WHICH FEW THROUGHOUT HISTORY HAVE EVER SUFFERED.”

America's New, More 'Usable', Nuclear Bomb

First built in 1963, the B61 has been called "the bread and butter" of the Los Alamos National Laboratory. The bomb's newest incarnation, B61-12, will be a variable-yield, precision-guided version of one of the most numerous bombs in the US arsenal. "Excluding submarine-based missiles, the B61 is the only US nuclear weapon deployed outside of the United States today. The United States has around 180 B61s at six bases in five NATO countries - Belgium, Germany, Italy, Holland and Turkey. These nuclear weapons are part of what many call the 'glue' that holds NATO together.

General Confirms Enhanced Targeting Capabilities of B61-12 Nuclear Bomb

"The former U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff, General Norton Schwartz, confirmed last week that the B61-12 nuclear bomb planned by the Obama administration will have improved military capabilities to attack targets with greater accuracy and less radioactive fallout. The confirmation is important because the 2010 Nuclear Posture Review (NPR) pledged that nuclear warhead 'Life Extension Programs' will not support new military missions or provide for new military capabilities. In addition to violating the NPR pledge, enhancing the nuclear capability contradicts U.S. and NATO goals of reducing the role of nuclear weapons and could undermine efforts to persuade Russia to reduce its non-strategic nuclear weapons posture.

<-- possible B61-12 target(s)

Improved B61 accuracy "Increasing the accuracy broadens the type of targets that the B61 can be used to attack. The effect is most profound against underground targets that require ground burst and cratering to be damaged by the shock wave. "General Schwartz's confirmation came during a conference organized by the Stimson Center in response to a question from Steven Young whether the relatively low yield and increased accuracy of the B61-12 in terms of targeting planning would change the way the military thinks about how to use the weapon. General Schwartz's answer was both clear and blunt:

'Without a doubt. Improved accuracy and lower yield is a desired military capability. Without question.' When asked whether that would result in a different target set or just make the existing weapon better, General Schwartz said: 'It would have both effects.'

<-- B61-12 during drop test from B2

"With the increased accuracy of the B61-12 the strike planners will be able to select a lower yield and still achieve the same (or even better) damage to the underground target. Using lower yields will significantly reduce collateral damage by reducing the radioactive fallout that civilians would be exposed to after an attack. The difference in fallout from a 360-kiloton B61-7 surface burst compared with a nt that many consider stabilizing'.  I later asked him what he meant by that and his reply was that critics (myself included) claim that the increased accuracy and lower yield options could make the B61-12 more attractive to use because of reduced collateral damage and radioactive fallout. But he said he believed that the opposite would be the case; that the enhanced capabilities would enhance deterrence and make use less likely because adversaries would be more convinced that the United States is willing to use nuclear weapons if necessary."

THE COMING STORM: PART 2

Hillary Clinton has been a high level political fixture for the last 25 years, so this announcement caught my attention:

But that's not all, more to come.

Trump Says Mattis 'Could be leaving as US Defense Chief
By Jim MANNION/Washington (AFP) Oct 14, 2018

Washington (AFP) Oct 14, 2018 - US President Donald Trump said in an interview airing Sunday that Defense Secretary Jim Mattis could be leaving, referring to him as sort of a Democrat.

"The generals who once dominated security policy increasingly have appeared to be on the outs with Trump."

So "Mad Dog" Mattis is following Nikki Haley, Hillary Clinton and other ranking (former) generals out the door.

Other generals on the outs:  Lt General HR McMaster (former NS Advisor),  John Kelly, (retired four-star general)

The US military has over the course of the last 25 years, intervened in many theaters (Serbia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Somalia, Syria, Libya, etc.) so what is so unusual that a slew of high ranking generals exiting?

The plan is to "nuke" Iran using the B61-12 mini-nuke bomb:

In effect pulling the nuclear genie out of the bottle & all the possible consequences (bad).   When Donald Trump says repeatedly he's going to "Make America Great Again":

November 26, 2018

No doubt war with Russian (& her allies) is coming but easier to answer the "where" question instead of who.  As before, it's the Baltic States where NATO has deployed an undersized contingent (by design).

Danzig (now called Gdansk), Adolf Hitler and WW2

The Free City of Danzig was a semi-autonomous city-state that existed between 1920 and 1939, consisting of the Baltic Sea port of Danzig (now Gdansk, Poland) and nearly 200 towns and villages in the surrounding areas (i.e. settlements that were primarily inhabited by Germans). It was created on 15 November 1920[1][2] in accordance with the terms of Article 100 (Section XI of Part III) of the 1919 Treaty of Versailles after the end of World War I.  As the Treaty stated, the region was to remain separated from post-World War I Germany (the Weimar Republic) and from the newly independent nation of the Second Polish Republic ("interwar Poland", but it was not an independent state. -- Wikipedia

On August 27, 1939, Adolf Hitler served notice on England and France that Germany wanted Danzig and the Polish Corridor.   Germany invaded Poland days later and on Sept. 3, France and Britain declared war, starting World War II.

Who Started World War II ?  by Viktor Suvorov (full version)

This is Viktor Suvorov's book presentation at the United States Naval Academy on October 7, 2009. In his recent book "The Chief Culprit" the bestselling author Viktor Suvorov probes newly released Soviet documents and reevaluates existing material to analyze Stalin's strategic design to conquer Europe and the reasons behind his controversial support for Nazi Germany.

He argues that Stalin was caught just days before launching his own assault into Central Europe. Thus the Red Army's offensive posture rendered it uniquely vulnerable to German attack.

A former Soviet army intelligence officer (true name Vladimir Rezun), the author explains that Stalin's strategy leading up to World War II grew from Vladimir Lenin's belief that if World War I did not ignite the worldwide Communist revolution, then a second world war would be needed to achieve it. Stalin saw Nazi Germany as the power that would fight and weaken capitalist countries so that Soviet armies could then sweep across Europe.  Suvorov reveals how Stalin conspired with German leaders to bypass the Versailles Treaty, which forbade German rearmament, and secretly trained German engineers and officers and provided bases and factories for war. He also calls attention to the 1939 nonaggression pact between the Soviet Union and Germany that allowed Hitler to proceed with his plans to invade Poland, fomenting war in Europe.

Suvorov debunks the theory that Stalin was duped by Hitler and that the Soviet Union was a victim of Nazi aggression. Instead, he makes the case that Stalin neither feared Hitler nor mistakenly trusted him. Suvorov maintains that after Germany occupied Poland, defeated France, and started to prepare for an invasion of Great Britain, Hitler's intelligence services detected the Soviet Union's preparations for a major war against Germany. This detection, he argues, led to Germany's preemptive war plan and the launch of an invasion of the USSR. Stalin emerges from the pages of this book as a genius consumed by the vision of a worldwide Communist revolution at any cost--a leader who wooed Hitler and Germany in his own effort to conquer the world. In contradicting traditional theories about Soviet planning, the book is certain to provoke debate among historians throughout the world.

Is Kalingrad the next Danzig?

Kaliningrad - Known as Konigsberg prior to Soviet occupation, the city was founded in 1255 near the mouth of the Pregolya River. Kaliningrad is a city in the administrative centre of Kaliningrad Oblast, a Russian exclave between Poland and Lithuania on the Baltic Sea.  The city became the capital of the Duchy of Prussia and East Prussia, Germany. It was heavily damaged during World War II and its population fled or were removed by force when it became a Russian city. At the 2010 Census, its population was 431,902.  --Wikipedia

Just like the city state of Danzig was created via Treaty of Versailles to set the stage for the world war 2, the Russian enclave of Kaliningrad (i.e. Konigsberg) may do so for world war 3.  Indeed, that maybe its sole purpose.

NATO (29 member countries) reinforces it's position in the Baltic states

"Canadian troops moved north to Latvia where they established their first permanent base in Europe since the end of the Cold War and took control of one of four multinational battalion battle groups alongside members from Albania, Italy, Poland, Slovenia, Spain and Czech Republic.

Battalions are also posted in Estonia, Lithuania and Poland. All told there are more than 4,500 NATO troops based in the region."

https://edmontonjournal.com/news/local-news/we-want-you-3rd-canadian-division-on-recruitment-drive-for-1000-more-reservists

An “ambitious” countrywide army reservist recruitment drive will begin next year in order to bring 1,500 fresh faces into the military family, the vast majority of whom are required to bolster numbers in 3rd Canadian Division...

So the 4500 NATO troops in the Baltic region would almost certainly be overwhelmed in any major Russian ground operation(s) directed at the Baltic States.  Hence, US intervention is almost certain, i.e. escalation.

More resignations ...

With Mattis leaving the Pentagon, is Dunford next to go?

By: Tara Copp and Aaron Mehta

"The withdrawal of troops from Syria was just the final straw, and Mattis' resignation may be an example to other top military leaders, the official said.

These military officers, they object ... but they never, ever resign.

Why is that?

If [the threat in Syria] is that serious that we would put troops in harms' way, what is [Gen.] Dunford going to do?”

Comment:  It's about plans to nuke Iran.  Trump is about to start a big war, so these troops from Syria, Afghanistan, etc. will be needed elsewhere.   That is the reason for the announced troop withdrawals.

An Ill-Timed Tweet

U.S. STRATEGIC COMMAND DELETES NEW YEAR'S EVE JOKE ABOUT DROPPING SOMETHING "BIGGER"

U.S. Strategic Command made an unexpected joke in a now-deleted Twitter post about American military might on Monday in its New Year's Eve message.

Noting the "big" Times Square ball drop celebration at midnight, the unified command's account tweeted, "if ever needed, we are #ready to drop something much, much bigger."

The joke was followed by a slickly produced video of stealth jets with the words "stealth, ready, and lethal" flashing across the screen. The tweet encouraged followers to "watch to the end!" If you do, you'll see two bombs released from a plane, followed by several massive explosions.

The tweet was later deleted, and a subsequent tweet from the unified command's account said the first was "in poor taste & does not reflect our values. We apologize."

A spokesman said the video shows test footage of non-nuclear bombs. More...

Comment:  The "cat is out of the bag".

More signs of pending conflict

Iran says Warships coming to the Atlantic for 1st time

This looks like pre-conflict re-positioning (dispersion) of vulnerable assets.  In the confined waters of the Persian Gulf, Iran's naval assets would be highly vulnerable to attacks from the US.  The Persians are fully expecting trouble. The US withdrawing from nearby Afghanistan and Syria, where their 14,000 troops are vulnerable to Iranian retaliation, certainly caught their attention.

Coming conflict not so much about Iran as it is with America's (Secret) Destiny.

There are many "soft" US targets in the Gulf of Mexico (e.g. Oil platforms) for Iranian warships to attack should Iran be planning an attack.

"Iranian warships will sail for the first time into Atlantic waters early in 2019, the deputy commander of Iran's navy has said. The long-distance voyage would bring Iran's military forces closer to U.S. soil, and territorial waters, than they have been since the 1979 Islamic revolution which brought the current regime to power. Iranian state-run broadcaster IRNA quoted deputy naval commander Admiral Touraj Hasnai Moqaddam as saying the "Iranian mission would take five months to complete" and would likely begin early in 2019..."

There is more than enough evidence regarding the attack/war with Iran, looming.

A Major Conventional War Against Iran Is an Impossibility. Crisis within the US Command Structure

Air Force B-2 to Get New Nuclear Weapon This Year (2019)   - by Kris Osborn - Warrior Maven

<-- B61-12 nuclear (smart) bomb

The Air Force report says the B-2 will be armed with a new B61-12 nuclear weapon by as soon as August of this year (2019).

The B61-12 adds substantial new levels of precision targeting and consolidates several different kinds of

attack options into a single weapon. Instead of needing separate variants of the weapon for different functions,

the B61-12 by itself allows for earth-penetrating attacks, low-yield strikes, high-yield attacks, above surface detonation and bunker-buster options. Air Force officials described the B61-12 as having an “All Up Round.”

The latest version of the B61 thermonuclear gravity bomb, which has origins as far back as the 1960s, is engineered as a low-to-medium yield strategic and tactical nuclear weapon, according to nuclearweaponsarchive.org, which also states the weapon has a “two-stage” radiation implosion design.

The joint program completed developmental testing on June 20, 2018, and successfully conducted all 31 developmental flight test events. The B61-12 transitioned from the engineering and manufacturing development phase to the production phase October 26, 2018.

The evidence that the B61-12 can penetrate below the surface has significant implications for the types of targets that can be held at risk with the bomb.

By bringing an “earth-penetrating” component, the B61-12 vastly increases the target scope or envelope of attack. It can enable more narrowly targeted or pinpointed strikes at high-value targets underground - without causing anywhere near the same level of devastation above ground or across a wider area.
