THE A.D. 2000

UNITED PRAYER TRACK

"'Spiritual Warfare' teaches evangelical Christians a variety of Theurgic techniques not only very similar to, but in fact clearly stolen from, Golden Dawn and Ceremonial Magic traditions, such as the LBRP [Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram]. If the Christians performing these acts had any idea of their origins they would most certainly be horrified beyond belief, since they are simultaneously taught to view Magic as Evil, a thing most surely determined to cast one's very soul into Hell... It seems to me, more than just a little, that these Christians should be encouraged to dabble in Thelema, as they already are quite comfortable dabbling in Magick." ~ Beast Bay (A Wiccan Magick Website)

From 1996 through 1999, Christians under the leadership of the A.D. 2000 United Prayer Track and Youth With A Mission (YWAM) participated in a Reconciliation Walk through the Middle East in repentance for the blood that was shed during the Crusades of the Middles Ages.  November 27, 1995 marked the 900th anniversary of the day when Pope Urban first called Western Christendom to take up arms and liberate the Holy Land from the Muslims. According to C. Lynn Green of YWAM, "the project will result in substantial reconciliation between the three major monotheistic faiths" and "will also open the door for peaceful dialogue so that Christians might better understand and accept both Jews and Muslims." The culmination of this walk was a service of Jews, Muslims and Christians within the walls of Jerusalem in July of 1999.  C. Peter Wagner of Fuller Seminary, who coordinates the A.D. 2000 United Prayer Track, stated:

“I join Lynn Green in the deep conviction that unless the sins of Christians committed in the Crusades are remitted through the blood of Jesus Christ, barriers to sharing the love of God with precious Muslims and Jews will remain as high as they have throughout history.” 1.

 What's wrong with this picture?

(1) Reconciliation between the three major monotheistic faiths culminating in an ecumenical worship service. (2) Only individual sin that is personally confessed can be remitted by the blood of Jesus Christ. (3) "Sharing the love of God" is ambiguous and could refer to preaching "another gospel" as Paul warns in II Corinthians 11:4. Conspicuously absent from this movement was the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the method which God has given to the Church to save sinful men.

For after that in the wisdom of God the world by wisdom knew not God, it pleased God by the foolishness of preaching to save them that believe. For the Jews require a sign, and the Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, unto the Jews a stumbling block, and unto the Greeks foolishness. But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, the power of God and the wisdom of God."  I Cor. 1:21-24

The beneficiary of this Reconciliation March appeared to be, in fact, the Vatican, which met last year with religious leaders in Bagdad to promote "brotherly relations between Muslims and Christians" and is currently working to negotiate an agreement with the Muslim world. There are now an estimated 1,002,000,000 Roman Catholics and 950,000,000 Muslims worldwide. 2.  Should the Moslems, awed by local apparitions of Mary as "a messenger from God," 3. unite with Roman Catholics under the authority of the Pope, this would represent over one-third of the world’s population. Although the Gospel is now prohibited in much of the 10/40 Window, pursuing reconciliation, understanding and the acceptance of Muslims is a compromising alternative to preaching Jesus Christ.

The 10/40 Window is the term used by the A.D. 2000 United Prayer Track, Peter Wagner's network, to designate the area of the world which historically has prohibited the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  On a map, it looks like a rectangular-shaped window which extends from West Africa to East Asia, from ten degrees north to forty degrees north of the equator.  This specific region, called the 'Cradle of Civilization', encompasses the majority (97%) of the world's Muslims, Hindus, and Buddhists.

When the 10/40 Window opens, which gospel will be allowed to enter –– the Gospel of Jesus Christ or another gospel?

On the national scene during October and November, also under the auspices of the A.D. 2000 United Prayer Track, intercessors involved in Operation Restoration retraced General Sherman’s path through the South, apologizing and asking God’s forgiveness for the corporate sins of the "Uncivil War." Was the Civil War an immoral war? Was there a peaceful way to deal with the issue of human slavery? Genesis 9:5,6 requires human governments to punish evildoers and to protect society by putting to death those who shed innocent blood. However, according to promoters of this march, God has not forgiven the United States for its violent solution of the slave issue:

"The war atrocities committed by the U.S. and the bitterness and hatred nursed in Southern homes for over a century have never been the subjects of widescale repentance…It’s time to ask the Lord’s forgiveness for these corporate sins and petition Him to clear another obstacle to nationwide revival and spiritual awakening." 4.

The March for Jesus, also part of the A.D. 2000 United Prayer Track, drew 20 million people worldwide this year. Although it is promoted as a Christian ministry, March for Jesus literature encourages the participation of other religious groups, such as Muslims, Islams, Hindus, Buddhists and Catholics. Founders of March For Jesus dismiss the mandate of separation from fellowship with unbelievers. (II Cor. 6:14-18) Contending that doctrine divides, they "are primarily looking for relational unity -- a display of love, unity and joy." 5.  Although the March for Jesus is publicized as a means of evangelizing the world and is perceived as such by many, its founders reject the biblical method of evangelism. Graham Kendrick states, "The marches are not an evangelistic campaign." 6.  According to Gerald Coates, the March is "a prophetic act" which claims the ground for God "by shifting the spiritual powers that have been allocated in the structures of the nations." 7.  They would gather millions of Christians together with the potential of preaching the gospel to multitudes, and yet hope that somehow souls will be won without preaching the gospel:

"Our task is to make Jesus attractive and intelligible. Through words and deeds to build bridges of love because human beings are worth it, and in the hope that we might have the rich privilege of sharing our faith with them. In so doing, as people respond, the earth will fill up with reasonable people who have the ability to make peace rather than war, to be faithful rather than promiscuous, to bring heaven rather than hell into the world." 8.

The objectives of the A.D. 2000 prayer movements advocate the wisdom of man rather than biblical evangelism. A.D. 2000 leaders state that the goal of these marches is to remove obstacles to revival so they can share their faith. However, it seems necessary to inquire what is "their faith" and what they mean by "revival." A revival of human reconciliation and cooperation without reconciliation with God through Jesus Christ? Faith in "reasonable people" who will be able to bring heaven into the world? A revival of peace at the expense of innocent life, of the abolition of the right and responsibility of a government to declare a just war? A revival of ecumenical unity and mutual understanding between Christianity and other religions, which will not offend people by preaching the Gospel? Such a revival can hardly be considered a Christian revival, but is quite in harmony with the New Age/One World Religion agenda of global integration.

If it seems that modern prayer movements are adopting the goals of the New Age, it is certain that they are employing their methods. In 1989, an event celebrated as "Harmonic Convergence" assembled thousands of New Agers at sacred points or ‘energy points’ on the earth to pray and meditate. This occult concept is based upon the premise that large numbers of people acting together in harmony in a given location create a ‘collective consciousness.’ When a sufficient percentage of the world’s population is involved, "critical mass" is achieved, which will then generate enough spiritual power to ultimately cause "planetary transformation" and the dawn of a New Age. World Action for the Millennium (WAM), which is supported by a number of globalist organizations, has even announced the date for such an event to occur:

"IMAGINE…On January 1st of the year 2000 all inhabitants of the planet Earth accessible through all communication means will be linked to receive and share for one minute a message, that…can be universally understood as a way to empower the individual and express its belonging to the global community…A moment of union with a single thought for all the people, which will erase all borders that presently separate us, and will inaugurate all together a new epoch in human relations." 9.

Since New Age devotees consider their meetings to be "worship," we should expect they are one method by which evil spirits are invoked. New Agers and other false religions believe that during the anticipated Planetary Pentecost, "The One" will appear whom they are awaiting and will recognize as "The Christ."  In II Thess. 2:9-10, the Bible warns about this false Christ, "whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders and with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish." New Age leader, Barbara Marx Hubbard, spoke for the "Christ" concerning his coming when she said: "At the moment of cosmic contact, I will appear to you both through inner experience and through external communication on your mass media – the nervous system of the world."  The father of the modern New Age Movement, Benjamin Creme, has said that on the Day of Declaration,

"(Lord Maitreya) will leave no doubt that He is the World Teacher. Maitreya will mentally ‘overshadow’ all of humanity simultaneously. Each of us, not only those watching or listening, will hear His words inwardly, telepathically, in our own language…Thus, all will know that the World Teacher is now among us. Maitreya’s open world-wide mission will have begun." 10.

Graham Kendrick, a founder of the March for Jesus, wrote about a vision he had during a gathering of worship leaders from different cultures and denominations. In his vision, a gigantic banner was created through praise and worship which, "hung over the earth, overshadowing it – on the underside of it was the face of Jesus…as you let the Holy Spirit weave you in and out of one another in relationships and worship, so the banner will be formed and Jesus will be revealed." 11.  "Overshadow" humanity? This is New Age terminology for demonic possession, as explained in Hannah Newman's treatise exposing the New Age Movement.

"In response to human need, some of these [Ascended] Masters become 'Avatars' by occasionally taking up residence on the physical plane within a human host, known as 'incarnation' (in their own body) or 'overshadowing' (sharing the body with another soul). There are different degrees of overshadowing, ranging from divine impressions (resulting in channeling and dictation of 'wisdom' literature) to the host actually 'stepping out' of his body to allow the 'master' full control. (see Bailey's 'A Treatise on Cosmic Fire', p.756-757)  This last stage transforms the outwardly normal-looking person into a body hosting an alien resident; the human owner is known in NA parlance as a 'walk-out', and the spirit-tenant is a benevolent 'walk-in'."  ("The Rainbow Swastika")

Theosophist Alice Bailey wrote of a future time when the the Ascended Masters will "over-shadow" mankind to assist them to make the shift, a quantum leap, to the next step of human evolution. To prepare for this epic event, incarnated spirits have been loosed in the world to prepare mankind for the appearance of the false Christ:

"These methods of over-shadowing will be largely the ones used by the Great Lord and His Masters at the end of the century, and for this reason They are sending into incarnation, in every country, disciples who have the opportunity offered them to respond to the need of humanity. Hence the need of training men and women to recognize the higher psychism, and the true inspiration and mediumship, and to do this scientifically. In fifty years time, the need for true psychics and conscious mediums (such as H. P. B., for instance) will be very great if the Master's plans are to be carried to fruition, and the movement must be set on foot in preparation for the coming of Him for Whom all nations wait. In this work many have their share, provided they demonstrate the necessary endurance."  (A Treatise on Cosmic Fire)

The accelerating momentum toward ecumenical unity makes it difficult to resist the suspicion that the various denominations and parachurch organizations professing to be Christian are really under the guidance of deceiving spirits.  There is much documented evidence of such a conspiracy, including statements by famous New Agers which reveal their intentions. In another book by Alice Bailey, Initiation: Human and Solar, is revealed the New Age plan to place Masters and initiates in positions of leadership of the Christian Church:

"Very definitely may the assurance be given here that, prior to the coming of the Christ, adjustments will be made so that at the head of all great organizations will be found either a Master, or an initiate who has taken the third initiation. At the head of certain of the great occult groups, of the Freemasons of the world, and of the various great divisions of the church, and resident in many of the great nations will be found initiates or Masters." (pp. 62-2)

In her expose of the New Age Plan, Constance Cumbey assessed Jeremy Rifkin’s Emerging Order with the observation that, "The evangelical church would be the primary instrument to bring the new world order to birth." 12. Researcher and author Fritz Springmeier, who has interviewed many former Illuminati, wrote, "The infiltration and control of the Christian religion has been one of the easiest tasks of the Illuminati." 13.

Teaching their New Age prayer styles and worldview, it seems that these Masters and Initiates are using Christians to accomplish their common objective of ushering in the New Age/New World Order. Former New Age priest, Will Baron, was ordered by his spirit guide to infiltrate evangelical churches and to teach occult techniques using Christian terminology. When he converted to the Christian faith and confessed his duplicity, those whom he deceived said that they never suspected his evil plan. 14.

Such undercover agents are subversively teaching undiscerning believers their occult methods, using their time, energy and financial resources to accomplish New Age goals, and bringing them together with nonbelievers to accustom them to "ecumenical unity." These change agents interpret the Scriptures esoterically, subtly disguising in Christian terms the old Gnostic lie that man is a god and transcending to his divine state will bring about the Kingdom of God on earth. These change agents are deceiving God’s people with false hopes for a worldwide Christian revival and moral reform, when Scripture clearly warns that a falling away from the faith will occur in the end-time, rather than revival or reformation.

Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition.  II Thess. 2:3

One clear connection between the worldwide prayer movements and the New Age Movement was the collaboration of Jay Gary, Regional Coordinator for the March For Jesus and leader in global evangelism efforts, with Robert Mueller, former Assistant Secretary-General of the U.N. and New Age spiritualist. The Bimillennial Global Interaction Network developed by Gary and Muller was a project working on cooperative efforts between Christian and non-Christian groups in the celebration of the new millennium. The Watch Unto Prayer report on the United Religions exposes Robert Muller’s global agenda and his close association with the strategically-positioned Jay Gary.

Another Bimillennial organization is the Millennium Institute, which worked with the Parliament of World Religions and also provided information about the various organizations involved in the planning of the Bimillennial Celebration. On the Millennium Institute Internet Home Page, "Talk 2000" by Jay Gary appeared together with Project WAM (World Action for the Millennium), which announced the aforementioned "moment of union…for all people" held on January 1, 2000. 15. Jay Gary’s "Mega and Special Events" listed Earth Day 2000, Olympics 2000, World Millennium Balls, Holy Year 2000 sponsored by the Vatican and the March of the Millennium. On June 10, 2000, "In honor of the 2,000th anniversary of the birth of Christ, more than 30 million people will participate in a global ‘March For Jesus’ celebration." Which "Christ" should we expect 30 million Muslims, Islams, Hindus, Buddhists, Catholics, New Agers and ecumenically-minded Christians  celebrated -- the Lord Jesus Christ of the Bible or "another Christ"?

Perhaps a look at Jay Gary’s promotional materials will disclose which Christ this influential evangelical leader intended to celebrate. In his presentations for Celebration 2000, Jay Gary actively promoted the books of New Age authors, such as Robert Muller, in order to help Christians update and adapt their theology to the Third Millennium. In an address on "The Power of A.D. 2000" to the Adopt-a-People Consultation II, Jay Gary highly recommended David Spangler’s Reimagination of the World and John Naisbitt’s Megatrends 2000:

"You know, as we approach the year 2000, many people will be saying we need a new story. You know, up until the 1500’s it was the creation story from Genesis to Apocalypse, that was our cultural agreement. And it was the agreed upon story that gave civilization and life a meaning. But since that year, and since that time, the authority of that story has eroded…These authors propose a new story of our beginnings and our endings, a new story that would provide harmony between the human family and the whole earth…the theme is the celebration of the cosmos, that the universe is moving toward this goal of self-expression, of celebration. The author (Naisbitt) even hints at cosmic liturgy." 16.

Peter Wagner, coordinator of the A.D. 2000 United Prayer Track, also seems to have high regard for the esoteric literature of the New Age. Wagner’s name appears in Richard Foster’s Spiritual Disciplines, endorsing this New Age book which promotes occult practices, such as Eastern meditation, altered states of consciousness and astral travel. Foster is the founder of two New Age societies -- Renovaré and the Chrysostom Society -- which promote the mystical traditions of Roman Catholicism in combination with the shamanism of Eastern religions. The A.D. 2000 Global Harvest Ministries brochure produced by Wagner lists 23 international prayer networks, 10 task forces, and 13 regional track representatives – altogether a worldwide web of enormous proportions. This A.D. 2000 United Prayer Track brochure does not mention the name of Jesus Christ, but it does state:

"We firmly believe that God is preparing the church for a massive spiritual harvest as this century ends and He is calling us to unite – setting aside differences and fears…The decade of the 1990’s promises to see the most powerful forward advance of the Kingdom of God at least since the conversion of the Roman Empire and certainly with a much greater global impact." 17.

This decade is indeed seeing a massive spiritual harvest that will have a greater global impact than the conversion of the Roman Empire.  Bible prophecy states that multitudes will fall away from the true faith into a unified world religious system led by the Antichrist and False Prophet. (II Thess. 2:3; Rev. 13) The "massive spiritual harvest" reaped by the A.D. 2000 United Prayer Track will be the delivery of multitudes into a false religious system---MYSTERY BABYLON THE GREAT--the Great Whore which will be destroyed by the Beast system after she has served its Satanic purposes.

Multitudes of believers who are involved in the global prayer movements are deceived by the false teachings of Peter Wagner, Jay Gary, C. Lynn Green, Graham Kendrick, Gerald Coates and numerous other deceivers with a New Age worldview and affiliation. Running to and from various marches and conferences organized by the A.D. 2000 United Prayer Track, these Christians have little time to study Bible prophecy for themselves and tend to rely on such teachers for their understanding of eschatology. Inspired by the worthy ideals of the Christian mission such as "evangelism," "prayer," "love and unity," "revival and harvest," these Christians are not discerning the false gospel and pagan practices that are promoted by leaders of the A.D. 2000 movement. However, the apostle Paul emphatically warned, "But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed." (Gal. 1:8)

To protect His people from pagan rituals disguised as "prayer", the Lord Jesus gave the following instructions: "And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men…But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door pray to thy Father which is in secret."  Matt. 6:5,6

Scripture does commend us to group prayer with brothers and sisters in Christ whom we personally know – within the protection of the local church, which should be pure. However, we really know very little about the leaders of large parachurch ministries, except what they and their promoters choose to tell us, which may or may not be true. Also, public meetings and marches invariably draw a mixed multitude and we may have no agreement with nonbelievers. (II Cor. 6:14-16) If we disobey God’s commands, "do not pray…standing on the corners of the streets" or "be ye not unequally yoked with unbelievers," what assurance do we have that He hears our prayer, even if we use Jesus’ name? Paul says that there is "another Jesus" (II Cor. 11:4) and there are other gods which might be invoked by those who move outside the parameters of God’s Word.

Furthermore, many of the so-called "spiritual warfare" techniques are derived from pagan rituals and repackaged with Biblical terminology for Christian consumption.  According to one pagan website, the popular practice of "prayer walking" is taken from the Druids, who are historically known for their rites of human sacrifice:

"By Celtic reckoning, the actual Beltaine celebration begins on sundown of the preceding day, April 30, because the Celts always figured their [sic] from sundown to sundown. And sundown was the proper time for Druids to kindle the great Bel-fires on the tops of the nearest beacon hill (such as Tara Hill, Co. Meath, in Ireland)... Other May Day customs include: walking the circuit of one's property ('beating the bounds'),..." 18.

Gwen Shaw, the founder of the End-Time Handmaidens and Servants, expressed her bewilderment over the flooding of rivers in America’s heartland in 1993 after "…precious End-Time Handmaidens went around redeeming the rivers…and redeeming the land…after the Tibetan monks came and they ‘blessed’ all of our rivers throughout this land?" 19.

“Redeeming the land” is a spiritual warfare ritual that involves binding territorial spirits and burying the elements of Communion in the ground. Should Jesus Christ and His Body become one with the earth? (I Corinthians 10:16,17) This is pantheism, a cardinal doctrine of the New Age. Of His body and blood, Jesus said “Take ye and eat” -- to do otherwise is sacrilegious and superstitious, akin to the Catholic practice of burying relics and statues of saints in the ground for God’s blessing. Learning the customs of the heathen does not bring God’s blessing, but actually furthers the destructive plan of the god of this world.

Binding territorial spirits seems to be a presumptuous and dangerous usurpation of spiritual authority. According to Romans 13:1,2, II Peter 2:10,11 and Jude 8,9, heavenly angelic authorities are established by God and this realm is the proper domain of angels rather than men. Richard Forster, one of the founders of the March for Jesus, admitted, "We don’t know what happens when we declare the victory of Jesus into the cosmos – what we do know is something happens." 20. The script for the first March For Jesus in 1987 said: "We trust that today will be the beginning of a greater visibility to the principalities and powers of the manifold wisdom of God -– we are not on a ramble, but tackling grave concerns while seeking to effect some serious changes in the heavenlies." Events in England following the March for Jesus were described by one observer:

"Within six months that change took effect, they say. On Black Monday 19th October 1987, the Stock Market crashed in London and New York and billions were wiped off the value of shares. By the end of that week, share prices dropped 102 billion pounds. Bankruptcies, redundancies, financial ruin -- was this the fruit of the Jesus March? Let’s not forget that three days earlier, the infamous hurricane had hit the South-East, felling a million trees and wrecking thousands of homes. A few weeks later, London suffered the fireball disaster at King’s Cross Tube Station in November of that year – yes, it certainly was a year when something happened!

"Did London become a less immoral or greedy city as a result? Was there revival? Did people turn to God in repentance? NO. Are we a more God-fearing nation after six years of marching? NO. Crime figures continue to rise; pornography, drugs, abortion – all are worse than ever. There has been no national repentance or profound social change; quite the reverse!" 21.

It is noteworthy that the preparatory stage of the immediate strategy of the Illuminati is to precipitate worldwide chaos. The motto of the  global conspirators is "Ordo ab Chao" or "order out of chaos." In other words, a New World Order will follow the destruction of the Old Order. Many who are involved in the vast network of organizations under the umbrella of the A.D. 2000 United Prayer Track sincerely desire to intercede for the nations of the world and believe that they are building the Kingdom of God.  In reality, they are unwittingly building and being assimilated into the apostate church -- the Great Harlot of Revelation 17 -- which will worship the Antichrist.  Remember, I Thessalonians 2:3 warns that our Lord Jesus Christ "shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God or that is worshipped."

Who among us can say that we have never been deceived? Our brothers and sisters in Christ who are involved in the following A.D. 2000 United Prayer Track ministries are in serious need of intercession on their behalf:
