Chapter 3

Later that day we all met in the mall instead of in the barn. I'm not really sure why, but I don't really care. We were all there in the food court, with Ax and I in our human morphs. "So, any news?" Jake asked us. "I've heard Principal Chapman say something about a new Yeerk pool," Rachel said, looking around to make sure nobody was listening. "I could follow him," I said with my human voice. Jake nodded. Suddenly Ax spoke up, "I have a question. Estion. Tion." "What?" asked Marco. "Can we get some cinnamon buns? Bun-zuh?" We all laughed and Cassie bought him one. He ate it in about two bites. We chatted for awhile, and then decided to leave. We have to leave seperatly, just as we have to arrive, so Controllers watching don't think we're a 'group'. I left with Marco and Rachel. "So Tobias, you going to come over later today?" Rachel asked me. "Yeah," I said, smiling. Marco snickered. Rachel elbowed him. We left the mall and I demorphed back to my own body. A hawk.

That night I went over Rachel's house. "Hi, Tobias," she said, opening the window so I could fly in. *Hi. What's up?* I thought-spoke. "Nothing. I'm just doing homework. Social Studies. Yuck," she said, making a face. I laughed silently. "Wanna help me?" she asked hopefully. *Sure* I said, flying onto a spot on her desk. After awhile, her phone rang. "Hello?" she answered the phone. "Oh, hi Cass...yeah...okay...sure, I'll be right there. 'Bye." She hung up the phone and turned to me. "Meeting at the barn in five minutes," she said, putting away her books. "It sounds serious." *Uh-oh* I said to myself. Rachel then took off her outer clothes, revealing her morphing suit, and started morphing into her bird morph: an eagle. I think it's so cool watching her morph an eagle. When she was done, we left, heading towards Cassie's barn. It was dark, but not too dark. I could still see fairly well. We landed near the barn and Rachel demorphed. Then we went inside. Everyone was already there. Ax was in his own Andalite form looking around with his four eyes. Yep, four eyes. Two stalk eyes, two regular eyes. Cassie looked worried. Jake was pacing back and forth. Marco was lying in a clump of hay. "Hey guys, what's happening?" Rachel asked, sitting down. "Jake, you tell everyone," Cassie said, looking down at the ground. "Tell us what?" Marco asked. "Well, we have a bit of a problem," Jake started,"someone's seen Ax in his Andalite form. And has seen him morph." Jake was still pacing. "What?!?" Rachel yelled. "Houston, we have a problem," Marco said, sitting up. We were all shocked. *Who?* I asked. "Well, we don't know her name or anything, but we do know she lives near Jake's house," Cassie explained. *So what are we going to do?* I asked. "I say we fing this girl and tell her she better-" Rachel started. "Easy, Xena," Marco said to Rachel. Rachel gave him a death look. "We've gotta look for her tomorrow morning. Early," Jake said. "How early is early, man?" Marco asked, even though we all kinda guessed the answer. "Before school, About 4:00 A.M.?" Jake answered. Everyone reluctantly agreed. So it was settled. Tomorrow at 4:00 A.M.
