The Witness

Chapter 1--- Hi. My name's Tobias. I can't tell you much because they are out there. Who? Yeerks. Now you're probably thinking "What the heck is a Yeerk?" or that I'm crazy. Well, the Yeerks are evil alien slugs that are invading Earth. Now you think I'm really looney, don't you? Well, there's more. The Yeerks slide into people's ears and control them. Totally control them. "And there's nobody to stop them?" you're probably thinking. Actually, there is. Us. Me and my friends Jake, Rachel, Cassie, and Marco. We're the Animorphs. There is also Ax, who is an Andalite. What's an Andalite? An alien. A good one, though. Unlike the Yeerks. Andalites look sort of like a deer, a human, and a scorpion mixed together...only blue. He is (well...was) the younger brother of an Andalite Warrior named Elfangor. Elfangor landed on our planet and gave us the power to morph before he died. Morph? Yup, we can morph into any animal we acquire. Then Visser Three, leader of the Yeerk invasion on Earth, killed him. Visser Three's pure evil. So, this morphing stuff sounds cool, huh? Well it is...if you follow the rules. You see, if you don't return to your regular human form within two hours, you're trapped as whatever animal you morphed. Forever. And that's what happened to me. I'm a red-tailed hawk. Bet'cha didn't think that, did you? The good thing is that some dude named the Ellimist gave me my power to morph back. So, I'm still a hawk, but can morph into any animal, even my old human self. Now you're probably thinking "Doesn't anybody notice you're missing?" Probably. But, they don't care. I lived with my aunt for half the year and my uncle the other half. Every year since I was parent-less. My parents are supposedly dead. But I know something. My father was Elfangor, only I never knew it until just recently. It's a small galaxy, huh?
