Sailor Pluto Cosplay

One of the most popular things to do at anime conventions is to...cosplay (costume play)! Here is where you can buy Sailor Pluto cosplay. I also have some ideas on how for you to make your own Pluto fuku :-) Use the above picture as a guide line. If you have any pictures of you dressed up as Pluto I would love it if you would send it to me so I can post it here. Thanks!

Want to buy your costume? Here is a few links to where you can find places to buy from.

SetsunaKou & HarukaKou's SM Cosplay (costs a pretty penny but good quality)

MoonPrism.com, they have accestories, even the Time Staff!

Every once in a while you can find cosplay on Ebay

Limebarb.com (Awesome stuff)

As of now I'm trying to make my own Pluto fuku. I am no way a seamstress but I'm trying. Here is some ideas for your own Pluto costume. Good luck! If you need help the people at Cosplay.com can help. Also, go to CosplayLab.com to see other people's finished costumes. Some of them are really good.

Most of it you can buy, like for the body suit it would just be easier to buy a white leotard. The gloves also can be bought at Clairs. The gloves are pretty easy to finish, to make the black rings like the ones on Plutos gloves twist together 2 pine cleaners, cut the cleaners to the length of the measurement around your arm. Cut out just enough black cloth to be able to wrap around the pine cleaners. Sew the 2 ends together. Now, you might need someone to wear the gloves to be able to slip the ring around the top of the glove and pin it in place. Carefully flip the top inside out and sew. You can really buy the sailor collars too but I'm not sure where from. I found mine at a used clothing store. If you do find one, even if its not black buy it. You can trace that onto black cloth or you can buy a pattern.

Now just buy knee high boots. Ok, this is going to sound...a bit dumb and really cheap ~_~ but it works and looks good (I've tried it). For the boot covers (The white upside down V on the boot near the knee), measure around the top of the boot where it's going to be placed. Now with that, make the V shape cover on poster board. Make it about an inch thick and cut it out. Now tape it so the top of the paper is lined up with the edge of the top of the boot. Simple and cheap. It looks a lot better than some peoples that have tried using cloth.

You can either buy a tiara from MoonPrism.com or make one. (You also can get the choker and ear rings there)

I don't know how to make a metal one but I do know how to make a cloth one. Buy gold material, 2 pieces of long wire, and red jewels. Fold the cloth in half and draw the tiara V shape in the middle. Cut it out. Now you should have 2 V shaped pieces.Put the pieces together and sew the top and bottom parts together. Keep the sides open. Bend the 2 wires into the same shape as the cloth. Don't cut the wire to the length of the cloth, you will need it to be about as long as the tiara's width. Bend the extra length of the wire down on one and up on the other. Tape the bent ends to the corresponding one so it's straight up and down. (The wire with the ends bent down ends sure be taped to the wire with the ends up ends.) Do this in the manner where not any of the wire can be seen. Slip it into the cloth and sew the ends shut. Now just make a band around your to sew to the tiara ends to keep the tiara on. Don't forget to glue on the jewel.

For the collar, you can either sew it onto the leotard or sew the ends together and slip it over your head. You can buy bows with wires inside of it but I'm not sure if you'll find one in dark red and black. If you can't find wire bows, buy dark red and black cloth and make bows out of that, then insert some wire inside it. Also, glue a red jewel in the center of the dark red bow or glue a safty pin to the back of the jewel.

I'm not 100% sure how to make the skirt but I'm guessing that you measure around your waiste and you put that onto white cloth. Fold the cloth in half and draw a half of a V starting at where the side of your waiste would start. Cut it out making it about 3 inches thick. When you unfold it, it sure be a complete V. Roll that up like with the gloves and sew it (use 3 pine cleaners instead of 2). Sew it onto a black short skirt. Cut any black above the white. Well....it sounds like it would work.

I don't know how to build the heart shape top piece to the staff but I do know how to make the rest of it. Use a pipe for the main staff part and make holes in ping-pong balls to use as the little balls on the staff. Draw the key shapes on poster board and cut it out. You can either hot glue or tape them on. No matter what, the paint should cover it up.

Good Luck!

Remember, duck tape and glue fixes everything :-)
