WHO IS HE? You probably know teen Dream Ethan from his role in That Thing You Do!, where he starred opposite Liv Tyler. Ethan was the sorta slow, but seriously sweet bass player. FYI: In real life, Ethan plays guitar and bass.
If you're already an Ethan fan (or if you became one after looking at this picture), you're in luck. He'll be starring in two movies this summer. First you can catch him in the upcoming Dancer, Texas Pop. 81 Ethan plays Squirrel, the kinda stinky member of a group of four guys who talk about leaving their sleepy hometown after high school graduation. Will they or won't they head for the bright lights of Los Angeles and leave their small town behind?
Second up, catch Ethan in Can't Hardly Wait, another high school flick featuring cool celebs like Melissa Joan Hart, Jennifer Love Hewitt and Jenna Elfman. Ethan stars as Preston Meyers, an aspiring writer who's been desperatly in love with class cutie Amanda Beckett (Hewitt) since he was a freshman. Now that they've graduated, Preston decidesto confess his crush to Amanda at the graduation party in the hopes that she'll feel the same way. Way to go, Preston!
THE 411: Ethan's been in a dozen movies, including the sorta lame National Lampoon's Vegas Vacation and the totally unforgettable Empire Records. Not bad for a guy who hasn't been acting that long.
BUT DIDJA KNOW? Ethan's played everything from a rich, jerky kid in Dutch, to a rich, spoiled kid in A Far Off Place. Um, not a huge stretch as far as acting goes, but the real Ethan's supposed to be an incredibly nice guy.
WHAT'S OUR PREDICTION FOR ETHAN? Since Ethan's supposed to be a huge photography fan and collects antique cameras, we think he'll put out a book, like fellow hot actor Ethan Hawke (check out his novel The Hottest State), of his own photography. After all, when you're a young celeb, there's nothing you can't do.
