My Great Grandfather was James Alvin OLIVER. He was born July 9, 1845 in Danville, Vermillion county, Illinois. He married Mary Francis KESTER. They had 10 children, Emma May, Roy Emmerson, Oscar Marion, Owen Albert, Minnie Ellen, George James, Willie Calvin, Myrtle Louise, Walter C.,and Samuel. James Oliver died Mar. 4, 1915 near the state line in Illinois and was buried in Atherton Cemetery in Danville Illinois.

John Oliver's father was Samuel OLIVER. He was born ca. 1775 in W. Centerville, Fairfax county, Virginia. He married Milly Pash Feb. 6, 1798 in Loudon county Viginia. They had 9 children, Harrison, Matilda, Polly, Milly, Rector, Bushrod, John H., William, and Elizabeth (Betsy). Samuel died Sept. 29, 1834 in Danville, Illinois.
