In Remembrance Of A Beautiful Woman

Colette Jean Wilkinson
November 21, 1960 - March 29, 2001

Colette and I became best friends
when we were teenagers.
We lived together in the Northwest Territories,
Alberta and Saskatchewan.
Over the years we walked along
many different roads together.

We shared lots of laughter and tears.
She could make me laugh just by entering a room,
she didn't have to say anything!
All she had to do was look at me
(which got me in trouble in highschool more than once!)

Not a day goes by that she's not on my mind.
She was one of those special people,
that if you were lucky enough to meet her,
you never forgot her.

I wanted to do something to honour her memory,
that I could share with the people who loved her.
Colette sometimes wrote poems to express her feelings.
I chose two poems that she wrote to me years ago,
that say so much about the kind of friend she was,
and what a special friendship we had.

I also made included a poem called
"I'm Still Here",
that gives me a lot of comfort.
On that page there is a guestbook to sign
and share whatever you like,
any special thoughts, memories.

She will always remain in my heart
and although I miss her deeply,
I know that she is never any farther
than a heartbeat away.

For myself and for those
that walked with her in her life's journey
I believe that ...

"Her Shine Will Shine On"
