Special Notice!

Well, we made it through the summer with not too much serious happening with the Backstreet Boys, except with AJ's torn hamstring (or ligament) which happened at the August 22nd Afternoon Concert in Toronto, Canada...which I went too and saw...first a note too those girls who threw the Basketball on stage....Shame on you!!!! Someone could have really gotten hurt when you did that!!. And too anyone else who throws things on stage.. Please do so before the concert begins, or after the concert...it is not safe to do so during the BSB's performances. Thanks.

On another note: Last month, Howie's sister Caroline passed away from a disease called LUPUS. I and my friends here in Canada wish too send our deepest love too Howie and his family, because I know what it is like too have a sibling fighting against the disease Lupus. And so, For your viewing..............

A Message From Howie D.

Regarding the recent passing of my sister, Caroline Cochran. The outpouring of emotion and sympathy I have recieved from the fans and the media has been overwhelming. Caroline was only 37 when she lost her battle with the disease called Lupus. This disease effects the immune system, often striking young people like my sister, in their prime. I would request that instead of sending cards and gifts in the memory of my sister, a donation could be made to the fund I have established in her name. This donation would help towards the research of Lupus with the hope a cure could be found, and no family would have to suffer a loss such as ours.

It's been 2 month since my last entry here and alot has happened since. I would like everyone to know, that Brian Pulled out of his Elective Surgury with flying colors on May 11th. He is now at home resting up.

Brian has asked that anyone who wishes to send him flowers, cards and gifts, rather should please send a donation to an Endowment Fund that has been set up in his name. The donations from this fund will go towards children who have the same heart problems Brian had, and who cannot afford the much needed surgery.

For the next month or so, Brian will be resting at home with his family in Lexington, while Kevin, Howie, Nick and AJ go aound doing promotional tours. They Backstreet Boys will be picking up their Concert Tour when Brian is feeling better after his down time around July 8th.

I would like to personally take this time right now to thank everyone out there that supported Brian During this trialing time. I really appreciate it, and I am sure that both Kevin's and Brian's Families appreciate it too.

I want to take this time out too give everyone out there an important message from the Backstreet Boys, mainly Brian actually. Perhaps you have heard the so called "Nasty Rumor" about Brian having surgery. THIS IS NOT A RUMOR!! Brian is scheduled to have surgery done around April 13th/98, too have the hole in his heart repaired. There is no need to worry! He will not be leaving the group. While Brian is on his down-time ( reccuperating ), AJ, Nick, Howie and Kevin will be doing promotional tours in Europe. Afterwards they will be returning to the U.S. to finish their American tour schedule. In July, they will be coming to Western Canada, ( and hopefully they will be stopping at Canada's Wonderland just before then ),then they will be returning to Europe to begin a new tour ( with the coming of their third album ). I hope that this clears up that rumour for all the fans. The information stated here was given to the fans through a world wide broadcast; in Canada here, it was broadcast through Much Music, on Febuary 5th/98, at 4:30pm, est. Another Note Regarding Rumors: Even though there may be some truth in them, remeber that 3/4th of the rumors spread through out the world are NOT TRUE! Rumors may start from misinformation published in magazines, or read by someone else, who didn't really understand what he/she just read. The spreading of these rumors and any other untrue inquiries is very childish; it's not funny, nor is it a game! Many fans become very upset when they hear some of these, especially when they don't know any better. When I had heard the one about Kevin having Cancer, I nearly blew! A word to the individual who started this rumor; I don't know who you think you are, but unless what you are are stating is absolutely true, I'd keep my mouth shut!!!! Not only do you hurt the fans, but you also hurt the one (or two) people that the rumor is about; and in this case it was Kevin, Whom I have the utmost respect for. I remind you! If it's not absolutely true, with the evidece needed too back it up ( an interview, spokenwords or documents from the individuals themselves ), don't say anything! Misinformation can be a very dangerous thing in the wrong hands, and I think that ALL of the Backstreet Boys deserve everyone's apology for the interference in their personal lives, where our noses don't belong, especially in regards too these rumors. Because, I know that I am personally sorry to have heard many of them spoken out of the mouths of fans just like me.....

I would like to hear everyone's comment on the above statement. I apologize for bitting everyones heads off on this subject, but I am angry about it, and I felt that something had to be said. The Backstreet Boys have come into each and every single one of our lives too bring us joy and happiness; And what do we do with it, we start nasty romors! By dispossing these stupid rumors, we get rid of those yo-yo emotions that are caused be them, and that some fans go through. This way we can enjoy the indespensible joys that Kevin, Brian, Howie, AJ, and Nick had originally intended for us, through their gift of voice, and revealing just a little bit of themselves too us.

I thank everyone who felt concerned enough to take the time out to read these statements. Let's Keep The Backstreet Pride Alive! - And forget all that other irrelevent stuff.
