(written by Michelle) The silence in the car was thick as the two friends rode to the restaurant that Jess was supposed to meet her mystery date at. Neither one of them was going to attempt any form of conversation, they were both too stubborn. Normally, Jess would have caved into Jade's unwillingness to talk, but she was lost in her own thoughts. Jess didn't know who this date was, but then again, that's the point of a mystery date. The date wasn't the only thing on her mind though, she was feeling so horrible that she thought about telling Jade to turn the car around a few times. But, she thought twice about it when she realized that she would actually have to talk to Jade, something she wasn't in the mood for. The sickly feeling that had started in her stomach was now working its way up to her brain. She could feel this wave of nothingness sweep through her body as it turned her hands numb. The temperature outside was 80 degrees, but inside the car Jess moved to turn on the heater.
"What are you doing?" Jade questioned from her positioned in the driver's seat. "My hands and feet are cold, I was just trying to warm them up," Jess said, fidgeting with the dials on the dashboard. Jade looked to her friend as she desperately tried to get some warmth into the car. Jess looked deathly pale, even through all the blush she had put on. Jade knew that she had to tell Jess what she had taken earlier but she just couldn't. She didn't want to see the look of disappointment on Jess's face, Jade could stand that look from anyone but Jess.
Jess had finally gotten the heater to out-put hot air when they pulled up at the restaurant. Jade turned to talk to her best friend as she got out of the car, "Look Jess, if you feel really sick and don't want to do this, I'm sure he'll understand." "Jade, just go home. I'll be fine, besides I don't feel that bad now." As Jess stepped out of the car, a wave of dizziness came over her and it took all the strength she had to fight it off as another one hit. "This is going to be a long night," she said to herself as she watched Jade pull slowly away.

He watched her as the waiter sat her at the table he requested. This table had a perfect view of the ocean and it was almost secluded from the rest of the restaraunt. He watched as she sat down and looked nervously around for her big date; it was time for him to make his entrance. He walked casually over to her, a white rose in his hand, he paused in front of her table, their table.
"Brian, what are you doing here?" Jess asked as Brian handed her the white rose he was carrying. Maybe it was the sickness making its way through her body, but Jess never even thought that he could be her mystery date. "I'm here to show you a night out on the town, Jess. That is if you'll let me," Brian asked, kissing her hand. "Brian?? You're my date?? I would have never guessed. I thought that after what happened on the balcony you would want to forget about me," Jess said, watching him take his seat beside her. "Jess, you jumped to conclusions last night, I don't want to forget about our kiss. That meant a lot to me, I really like you." The waiter interrupted them with their food, it turned out that Brian had ordered already.
Jess stared down at the shrimp in front of her, normally she would have wolfed it down already, but now she was ready to puke. "Excuse me Brian, I have to go to the restroom. I'll be right back." Jess excused herself and ran to the bathroom. The lady in the restroom gave her strange looks as Jess tried desperately to fight the feeling of dizziness that threatened to overtake her any second. As she fought harder and harder to retain her balance her body felt as if it was shutting down. "Are you alright?" the bathroom attendant asked.
Jess turned her head to the sound of the attendant's voice, but all she could see was a mass of colors that was moving towards her. "Are you alright?" the voice came again. This time Jess was able to anwer as the feeling passed momentarily, "Yes, just a little dizzy for a second." Jess watched as the lady came back into focus and then she left the bathroom and walked quickly back to Brian. She smiled as he stood to pull out her chair for her and then sat her. "Is everything ok?" he asked. "Yes, there was a line I had to wait," Jess quickly covered up her sickness.
An hour or two later they exited the restaraunt. As they waited for the valet to get Brian's car, Jess could feel that same feeling she had been fighting all night creep up on her. She looked to Brian as the feeling overwhelmed her, it was much stronger than the times before. "Are you alright Jessica?" she heard Brian ask as everything became dark.......

Brian waited impatiently outside the examination room where they had taken Jess. When she collapsed at the restaraunt, he had called an ambulance and they had brought her here. He had followed the ambulance on the way over and he could see them start chest compressions halfway through the drive. When they got here, they wheeled her away and asked him to sit in the orange chairs; he hated the color orange. He called Nick's house and told everyone there about it, and that they should bring Jade with them. That was over 15 minutes ago, they should be here by now. Almost as if on cue, the doors opened and Jade flew in with Kev, Nick, AJ, and Howie in tow. Brian immediately rushed up to them to calm Jade down a little, she was frantically screaming to see Jess. Kevin managed to get her seated in a chair while Brian explained to her what had happened. "And then she just collapsed, right there in the parking lot," Brian finished and waited for Jade to fill in her theories on why Jess collapsed.
"Brian, you were her mystery date?" she asked, her eyes filling with fresh tears. "Yes, I was, Jade." Kevin stood up to indicate that the doctor had arrived. "Are you all waiting for news on Jessica Patterson?" he asked. "Is she alright, can we see her?" Jade rattled a thousand questions at him. "Calm down miss. Your friend is in a coma due to a drug overdose," again the doctor was interrupted.
"But that's impossible, Jess wouldn't do something like that," Brian intervened. The doctor raised his hands to silence the group, "She's fought it for a pretty good amout of time, but her body's worn out, I'm afraid it doesn't look good," with that he turned on his heel and left them standing there. "How could this happened?" Nick questioned, pulling his blonde hair out of his eyes and sinking into the nearest chair. "I know how....." Jade started.....
