(Written by Michelle) Jade had just proposed a once in a lifetime opportunity to her best friend Jess and now the choice was up to her. Jess sighed and looked to her best friend for the answer. "I'm sorry Jess, but I can't pick this time," Jade told her. Frustrated, she told Jade to give her an hour and then she would give her the answer--good or bad. She left the room and headed for her own room--the much smaller room. Jade had gotten her way.
She sighed loud enough so that Jade would hear as she found the door to her, (did I mention), much smaller bedroom stuck yet again. Jade's voice traveled down the hallway to Jess, "Use your body weight to push it open, it's just like checking someone in hockey." Silently cursingher roommate for not having this room or these choices on her mind, Jess heaved herself against the door and went tumbling into her small room. Thankfully, she landed on a pile of dirty laundry, narrowly missing the sharp edge of an unpacked box. Making a mental note to finish unpacking, Jess quickly rose to her feet, dusted herself off, and threwherself onto her unmade bed to contemplate the choice before her. As she laid her head on her NKOTB pillow case, (it brought her good luck, some people have rabbit's feet, Jess uses a pillow case from The New Kids On The Block era.), her eyes wandered over the mess in her room.It would be nice to get away for a month, even though we did just get here. What if we do meet up with the BSB and I'm not there to enjoy it? I know I'll regret that for the rest of my life, especially if Jade hooks up with one of them.
Jade had always been the looker of the two, she still was for that matter. Jess had just been thought of as the tom-boy that Jade had allowed to tag along. But, if I do go with her things will change, Jess thought to herself, getting off her bed to clean her room. Jess thought as she picked up her dirty clothes to take to the washing machine, and Jade doesn't know it yet, but she is going to be the one to transform me. The clothes began to spin around in the rinse cycle when Jess finally realized that she had a job she couldn't leave for a month. But then again, she had made friends with Eric Lindros and he might help her, and her boss wasn't all that bad, he would understand. Besides, the practice sessions didn't start for another 2 months so she would be back in plenty of time. But then again, her boss had informed her that she might have to do one-on-one sessions with each of the players.
The washer stopped abruptly as did Jess's mind. She ran to Jade's room to tell her what she had decided, she just hoped there were no sharp objects within her reach. Jess swung open the door of Jade's room, only to be hit in the face by some of Jade's flying clothes. "HEY," Jess yelled. Jade stopped flinging clothes everywhere to see who had interrupted her search. "Oh,sorry Jess," she said, taking the clothes from Jess's shoulders, "I didn't hear you come in." Knowing that Jade would never get to the point as to why Jess was in her room, Jess jumped right in, "I've decided what I am going to do." Jade looked at her like she didn't know what Jess was talking about, "Decided about what?" "Don't give me that, you know what I am talking about," Jess said, eager to get her news off of her chest. "Oh that, well what have you decided?" Jade asked, resuming her search. "I'm going," Jess said--Jade had got her own way yet again.
