Violin, Harp, Piano, Organ
Cordelia has been a musician, music teacher and classical music announcer virtually all of all her life. She has served as the Orchestra Director at xxx Community College and at xxx and has performed in numerous orchestras and string ensembles. In addition to xxx, she plays solo piano most Saturday nights for the piano bar at "The Lodge" in Bxxx and is a frequent guest organist at local churches. Guitar, Piano, Low Whistle
Lawrence has performed solo and in many bands over the last 20 years, exploring genres that have included Celtic, Folk, New Age, Children's Music, Rock, East-West Fusion and Jazz. In addition to Forest Green, he performs solo on piano, acoustic guitar and Celtic harp, plus he is a member of a Folk-Rock band and another Celtic band. In his non-musical life, he is Computer Lab Coordinator at xxx High School in xxxx. See his web site at xxx for details.Our instruments were chosen to provide us with an extremely wide range of musical combinations. For example, Cordelia's harp was custom built with gut and brass strings (as opposed to the nylon strings found on most Celtic harps) to allow her to play either solo/duet or with a full orchestra. Her violin was carefully chosen to allow for playing in either a classical style or (through a modified bridge) the double-stops of Celtic fiddle styles. Likewise, where an acoustic piano isn't available, Lawrence uses his portable sampled keyboard that is able to reproduce realistic grand piano tones. Also, his low (double-sized) whistle was chosen for it's "breathy" quality that sounds remarkably like a flute. The "bagpipe organ" is his own invention, and combines the attributes of the bagpipes (including drones) with the reed sounds of an accordian.
Lawrence also plays in the Folk-Rock band xxxxx, and Cordelia occasionally sits in. Lawrence plays either electric bass or keyboard bass/organ/piano, with Cordelia occasionally joining on violin.
