My Tribute To George Strait
|
I scanned all the pictures that are on these pages from my collection of George Strait CD's, Magazine Covers, Magazine Articles, Fan Club Newsletters, and so on, they are copywrited by whom ever placed them there. I am just a Fan, I created this site as a way to share with others my collections of things about the King Of Country Music, George Strait. I'm not asking for money from you to view this site. If you want to purchase any George Strait CD's or other collectibles, go the Official George Strait Fan Club Site at the link below, where you can Join his Fan Club, and order a lot of things on-line.
You would never guess that I was a George Strait Fan, unless, you just happened stop to my house and see all the posters and pictures of George Strait I have displayed on the walls in my Office, as well as the Monitor of my computer. I have two lifesize stand up posters I got from the best honky tonk in town, Barb's Den. I have most of George's cassettes, a lot of his CD's, including his Box Collection. In my video library I have two copies of his Movie, "Pure County", and several recorded video tapes of him appearing on CMT, many Awards Shows, and other TV Specials. I even have two George Strait Drive street signs hanging on the wall, thanks to my friend Suzi. Below are the two stand up posters I have hanging on the walls in my office.
I've only been to three of his live concerts, two in Amarillo, Texas with Patty Loveless opening for him the at one and Kathy Mattea the other one. Clay Walker opened for George at the Wichita, Kansas Concert I went to. The Concerts were great, but there where so many people, more each time, that I decided I'd just watch him on TV, then I'd actually be able to hear him.
I am sure that George appreciates his Fans. I know, I do because without them he'd be just another Country Music singer playing at local bars on the weekends, and we would have missed out on all the great songs he has recorded over the years. Below are a few links, including a few awesome George Strait Fan Sites. Some have been around for twenty plus years. There is a lot of information and lots of pictures,as well as much, more. Anything you ever wanted to know about George Strait can be found on one of these Sites. Although I've been a Fan from the beginning of his career, and I thought I had a lot of pictures and other things, I can't begin to hold a candle to what these Fans have. I want to thank them for sharing with us their love for the King of Country Music and especially for sharing all their grait Concert pictures.

Each year George Strait releases a new album, sometimes more than one a year. As good as they are, they just keep getting better. This is what makes George the King of Country Music. I can't pick just one as my favorite as I love them all. There's isn't one song on any of his Albums that isn't great. Clink the link below to see pictures of all of his Albums and a list of all the songs on each one. It will open a new window so you can still listen to George while you look through the albums.

I am in the process of adding the lyrics for each song on each of George Strait's album's. I'm have only finished albums 1 through 17 so far. Each has a different picture of George. Check back often. It will take a while to complete. Be sure and check out the Links Page to see where most of the pictures where found.

Below is a list of George Strait's #1 record releases. Personally, I think there should be a lot more. The Fireman, The Chair, and Amarillo By Morning are just a few that come to mind. George's selections just keep getting better each time he releases a new album.

Pure Country, staring George Strait as Dusty, is my all time favorite movie. I have seen it five or six times at our local Showplace when it first came out. Then when it came out on video, I bought my first copy through the George Strait Fan Club, and later purchased another copy at one of the area Discount Stores. I also watch it everytime it's on TV. I can see where a big Music Star would get tired of all the screaming fans, wondering if anyone can actually hear them singing. I've been to his concerts and have never had a problem hearing his smooth county voice. If you haven't seen it, you've really missed a good movie. A friend of mins went to one of his concerts at the Kansas State Fair a few years back and told me it was the worse concert she had ever been to. I couldn't believe that and ask her why. She said that all he did was sing. I laughed, saying that was why I like his concerts and that's why I go to them. Apparently his other Fans do as well, as the Concerts are always sold out quickly.
The first time I heard George Strait and Alan Jackson singing 'Murder On Music Row" at the CMA Show I thought what a great song and they sounded so good singing together and they were having a lot of fun with the song. Just like Mary Chapin Carpenter did when she sang, "You don't know me, I'm your opening act" at the 1990 CMA's. I'm sure they didn't didn't mean any disrespect to other performers, and it seemed to have lightened up the mood of those attending the Awards Show. I also feel there is a lot of truth in the song, today's County is more Country rock than pure county music, with a few exceptions.
