1980/90S UNNUMBERED TOYS

A note on acknowledgments: If I link to someone’s Web site or e-mail address, it means they’re still active in Kinder Surprise trading (as far as I know), and I would be willing to deal with them again. Someone whose name is not linked but is in bold is a person who is no longer actively trading (as far as I can tell), but with whom I would be willing to deal again or recommend to others should they decide to resume trading. Finally, someone whose name is neither linked nor in bold is a person, persons or business with whom I may have traded in the past, but for one reason or another would not do so again in the future. Nor would I recommend that person, persons or business to others, notwithstanding my acknowledgment of them as a source for one or more Kinder Surprise toys on this page.

This section contains unnumbered toys that were issued prior to or in conjunction with K toys during the 1980s and 1990s. It includes Italian/European exclusives as well as recasts of German toys.

BIRDS WITH FLIPPER FEET (COMPLETE SET OF 3)

NB: This set is based on a 1992/93 German one called "Watchseltiere" (Waddlers). For more info on this series, click here and scroll down to “WATSCHELTIERE”.

Duck with flipper feet, which is meant to be rolled along with a pencil. Thanks to the Salvation Army Family Store of Miramar for this one. Click here to see a scan of the paper on another Web site. Toy Type: Bird with Flipper Feet - Duck. No. of Duplicates: 0

Hen* with flipper feet. Thanks to Wayne Flint for this one. Toy Type: Bird with Flipper Feet - Hen. No. of Duplicates: 0

Pelican* with flipper feet. Thanks to Wayne Flint for this one. Toy Type: Bird with Flipper Feet - Pelican. No. of Duplicates: 0

ELEPHANT

Elephant* - grey elephant with tusks that move up and down when the tail is pulled back and forth. It's supposed to some with a fence or gatepost, but unfortunately, this is missing. All the same, thanks to Wayne Flint for this one. If you have the accessory that belongs with this toy, or the paper, please e-mail me! Toy Type: Animal Figurine - Elephant. No. of Duplicates: 0

JEEP AND CARAVAN (1 OF 2)

Jeep and Caravan 1* - one of two Jeeps pulling a caravan issued in 1989 in both Germany and the rest of Europe. The Jeep is meant to have a driver, but is missing this. The caravan has both its stickers, but they're pretty worn and one of them is upside down! Also, it appears they've been put on the wrong sides. Nevertheless, thanks to Wayne Flint for this one. Please e-mail me if you have this with the driver or better stickers. Toy Type: Vehicles: Jeep & Caravan. No. of Duplicates: 0

KANGAROO WITH JOEY

Kangaroo and joey, on a wheel. Joey's eyes roll when kangaroo moves. Thanks to Thorndon Antiques and Collectables for this one. This is a recast of the kangaroo from the 1993/94 German “Kulleraugen Tiere” series. It was issued with the K93 series, I think. Click here to see a scan of the Italian paper on another Web site. I’m not entirely certain, but I think it may be a different colour to the German version. Toy Type: Creature on Wheel: Kangaroo. No. of Duplicates: 2 (loose with no paper)

MAGIC BOX

Magic box, recast of the 1992/93 German “Zauberbox”. This was issued with the K93 series. Thanks to Thorndon Antiques and Collectables for this one. Toy Type: Magic Box. No. of Duplicates: 2 (1 mint in capsule, other loose with no paper)

MEDIEVAL BUILDING (1 OF 3)

Medieval Church - church with a red roof and spires that double as crayons. Thanks to Dianne Osborne for this one. Toy Type: Miniature Building: Church/Crayon Toy. No. of Duplicates: 0

MODERN ALL-TERRAIN VEHICLES (2 OF 4)

NB: This set was issued in 1992, so probably accompanied the K93 series.

Jeep CJ17* - greenish-grey Jeep with suspension. Thanks to Wayne Flint for this one. Toy Type: Vehicle: ATV. No. of Duplicates: 0

Modern Pickup* - orange pickup truck with suspension. Thanks to Wayne Flint for this one. Toy Type: Vehicle: ATV. No. of Duplicates: 0

PLANES (COMPLETE SET OF 3)

NB: This set was originally released in Germany in 1994/95 and was called "Flying High". It was reissued in Italy and, typically of recasts, was not assigned a "K" number, though it came out with the K94 series. Thanks to Thorndon Antiques and Collectables for this set.

1. Monoplane with propeller and "Sky Clowns" on the wings. Toy Type: Vehicle: Aircraft. No. of Duplicates: 1 (mint in capsule)

2. Biplane with "LOOPING" on the wings. Toy Type: Vehicle: Aircraft. No. of Duplicates: 4 (two mint in bag, others loose and mint, but no paper)

3. Triplane with "23" on the wings. Toy Type: Vehicle: Aircraft. No. of Duplicates: 3 (1 mint in capsule, 1 unassembled in bag with defaced paper, the other  loose with no paper)

SCENES

South Sea Islands Scene 1* - scene with a hut, catamaran and palm tree with a green trunk and yellow leaves. Year of issue unknown. Thanks to Wayne Flint for this one. Toy Type: Scene. No. of Duplicates: 0

South Sea Islands Scene 2* - much the same, but the palm tree has a yellow trunk and green leaves. Thanks to Wayne Flint for this one. Toy Type: Scene. No. of Duplicates: 0

WOMAN WITH DRESS (1 OF 7?)

Woman with Pink Dress* - golden blonde wearing a pink dress and top to match. Although this figurine is shown in the SU Verlag catalogue, the year of issue is unknown and there is some debate over whether it is actually a true Kinder Surprise toy. Still, it is a most attractive little figurine and is assembled from several pieces. Thanks to Wayne Flint for this one. Toy Type: Snap-Together Figurine: Woman. No. of Duplicates: 0

TOTAL: 28
