Thanks to Ron Anglin for this set. It was originally released in Italy in 1993, where it was called "Le simpatiche Ranopla". Subsequent issues have been in Benelux and France (1994, "Mini Splash"), Austria and Switzerland (1994), Spain and Portugal (1994, "Las Ranopla"), Scandinavia (1994, "Frosty Frogzz”) the UK (1994, “Frosty Froggies”, Eastern Europe (1996, "Froggy Friends") and the UK again in 1998.

This set is kind of the "odd one out", but is included in this section because the head and tail portions are hand-painted. It was actually first released in 1994, but the figures have 1993 stamped on them. It was also issued in Benelux in 1998 under the name "Twizzels".

Also, the colour is slightly different, although whether this is deliberate or just a result of too much exposure to sunlight at one time, I’m not quite sure. THE GREAT LEOVENTURAS (BRITISH - COMPLETE SET OF 10)
This set of lions on safari was issued in New Zealand in 1995/96. But it was released originally in Italy in 1993 under the name "I Fortissimi Leo Venturas". Following its initial release, it was also issued in France (1994, "Les Léoventuras"), Austria (1994, “Die Leoventuras”), Switzerland (1994, "Nouveaux Leoventuras”), Benelux (1994, known as "De Onweer Staanbare Leoventuras" in Holland and "Les irrésistibiles Leo Venturas" in Belgium and Luxembourg) Brazil and Portugal (1994, "Os Fortissimos Leoventuras") Spain (1994, "Los Fortisimos Leoventuras”), UK and Scandinavia (1994) and Eastern Europe (1994, "Leoventuras"). The paper that came with Leoventuras issued in New Zealand had English on one side and Finnish and Swedish on the other. I have a paper that says "The toy is not suitable for children under 5 years" (my original) and another that says "This item is not suitable for children under 5 years" and has the CE mark in bold.
