Against All Odds

Chapter One

"Hi, welcome to the Davidson Bed & Breakfast. Glad to see you." An older man greeted the three younger men as they walked through the door. "I'm Jack Davidson, this is my wife, Ella, and these are my daughters, Katy, Heather, and Brandy." The younger guys shook hands with the members of the Davidson family as they introduced themselves in return.

"I'm Kevin," one of them said with a deep country version of a Barry White sounding voice. "Hi, I'm Brian," another responded with a sweet southern slur. "And I'm AJ," the last one said. His voice was very deep and rough with an edge to it.

Everyone smiled at each other and, as usual, Brandy, Katy, and Heather volunteered to show their guests around. "C'mon. We'll show you the rest of the house,” Katy smiled, her accent matching that of both Kevin and Brian. Kevin non-chalantly smiled at this.

The girls led the three guys around showing them the full layout of the house, where they would be sleeping, the dining room, and the bathrooms. They then took them outside and showed them the pool and the jacuzzi.

The four guys gazed over the land. It ran for what seemed like forever. Kevin had suggested this stay in Savannah, Georgia. Every other time he had visited he had found it very beautiful and serene. Somewhere perfect for clearing your mind and getting things straightened out.

He thought that a bed and breakfast would be the perfect place. No screaming fans, unless the Davidson daughters were overgrown teenyboppers. The media wouldn’t suspect that they would stay somewhere so simple and the most important thing is that it was quiet. The family only had five quests at a time so therefor they wouldn’t have to worry about disturbance.

Everything that the group had been through, everything endured in the past few months was stressing each of them out. Never had they thought they would end up in this predicament. Just falling apart at the seems over something so silly.

“Um, Kevin is it,” Katy asked as politely as her southern voice would allow. “Supper’s ready if you want to come eat with us.” “Oh sure I’ll be right there. I need to wash up first,” he smiled sweetly. She nodded, brushing her hair out of her face. The wind was getting brisk and Kevin couldn’t help but notice how lovely she looked in her long white sundress that showed off her tan.

He could tell she favored her mother more than the other two girls did. She had thick, long, auburn hair that looked perfect with her welcoming baby blues. She also had forever long legs, even in the flat sandals that she was wearing.

Heather and Brandy were a bit shorter with dark brown hair and big green eyes. More curvy and tender looking. To him Katy looked more womanly than her sisters. The way she carried herself about. How she made a sundress look elegant when she smiled and nodded at him the way that she did.

He dried his hands on the towel hanging from the rack in the bathroom and then joined the others at the table in time to say the blessing.
