Scream

by: Brandy Jackson

authors note: This is not about committing suicide. Think more along the lines of a personality being killed.

Today I asked again for the screaming to stop
For the painful uproar to consume itself and die off
Today, again, I haven't been answered

In days and nights of pure emotional solitude, I cry
I cry to be heard. I cry to be seen through.
My sorrow screams louder, yet no one hears.

No one knows the one who lives inside of me
She wants to smile, she needs to feel bliss.
She wants to shine through.

A midnight dream shakes her from sleep very suddenly
The explanation brings tears,
but is never repeated.

Through the truth of her tears
She forces herself back to sleep
She wakes and remains the same as yesterday

The baby steps towards to end brings butterflies to her stomach.
She swallows and steps once more into complete intrapment
This time never to return.
