Andros and Ashley sat side by side in the darkened movie theater. The huge screen in front of them was of the new Pokemon movie, and three dozen screaming kids sat in front of them.
"I can't believe you talked me into seeing this," Andros muttered lowly under his breath. Ashley just smiled charmingly at her friend.
"Oh, you know you'll have a blast. What can be more fun then watching Mewtwo going against everything we've ever known?"
"Battling Ecliptor to the end?"
Ashley rolled her eyes at the attempt at humor. "Shh now. 'Pikachu's Vacation' is about to start."
Twenty minutes later, Ashley glanced over at Andros and snickered at his expression. He sat frozen in his chair staring at the screen in disbelief. "What'd you think?" she whispered into his ear.
He didn't say a word for a while. "Interesting," was all he could gasp out at the end. "Very... Interesting." He sat back with a sigh as the main movie, "Mewtwo Strikes Back," began to play. He looked to his left, and smiled softly, as he watched Ashley lightly lay her head on his shoulder. Fighting an urge to softly touch her hair, he turned back to the movie before she looked at him.
He's so sweet. Ashley thought with a smile, glancing up casually at Andros. He was engrossed in the movie and wasn't paying attention to her as she leaned her head against his shoulder. I hope... I hope for so much for us in the future. If only I could admit to him of what I feel though...
She sighed, and settled back to watch the movie.
It was an hour later, and Andros and Ashley were walking through the park quietly together. They came to a stop in front of the duck pond, and settled themselves onto a wooden bench.
"So, what'd you think of the movie?" Ashley asked, a bright smile across her tanned face.
"It was good," he admitted at last. "Pokemon is definitely cute, although you can tell it was made for the five year devi... children."
Ashley giggled and nodded in agreement. "That, it definitely was." Ashley paused and looked up at him, then quickly looked away when she caught his gaze on her. Why can't I just tell him? I shouldn't be afraid... Maybe I should let *him* make the first move on me...
"Hey, Ash..." Ashley looked up at him. "..can I ask you something?"
"Sure, what is it?" she stopped, cringing inside as she noticed the over eagerness she showed.
"Ash, since I've met you..."
"Yes..?" she asked, voice slightly shaking. She knew what he was going to say, or at least hoped it was what she thought, and the thought nearly threw her into a emotional roller coaster.
Andros watched her, a smile creeping onto his face, and he took a breath, then paused. Why couldn't he say what he wanted to say to her? I love her. I have for so long.. Probably from the first time I saw her, but what's stopping me? He paused, then opened his mouth to try again.
But nothing came out. He sighed, and watched her. Her eyes were crinkling up with slight confusion, and he didn't blame her for being confused, but he couldn't say it. But he couldn't understand why! He turned away, not baring able to see her expression.
"Andros?" His name came out so softly he wasn't even sure if he heard her say it. He turned and looked at her. He gasped out lightly, as he felt her soft lips come down onto his in a sweet kiss.
They broke away, a few minutes later, and Andros stared at her in almost shock, yet utter happiness.
"I couldn't hold back any longer," Ashley admitted softly. "I'm sorry if that made you uncomfortable. I know you probably don't have mush experience with giiirls..." she closed her mouth when she realized she'd started babbling.
Andros smiled at her, and leaned over and kissed her, placing a hand on the back of her head to deepen it. Again, they broke apart several minutes later, and Andros gave her a innocent smile. "It didn't make me uncomfortable, and I'm glad you did. I think I fell in love with you when I first saw you."
Ashley smiled, her gaze lingering on his smile. "I think I fell in love with you then too..."
"I love you," he whispered into her ear as he brushed a soft kiss across her lips.
"I love you too." Ashley whispered, "Now and forever."
"So, how was the movie?" Zhane snickered as Andros walked into the bedroom that he and Zhane shared. "Was Pokemon as good as the little kids told you it would be?"
"Wonderful." Andros said with a smile, climbing onto his bed. "Absolutely wonderful!"
