Andros laid on his bunk, his body aching. Having walked about three miles total on KO-35's surface that day, he'd give anything to be in a hot tub or somewhere relaxing or with someone who would help him relax. Laying on the bunk he could hear the sounds from the SimuDeck, where the pink and blue rangers liked to train after a bad, or even good, battle with Quantrons.
Standing up, he walked from the drab quarters and down the hall, pausing in front of Ashley's room. She laid on her own bed, a set of ear phones on her head. A soft melody came from her lips as she sang along with the CD of the moment. It was always hard to keep up with the earth Rangers music tastes. The music industry was always changing there along with each Ranger's CD collection.
The song that was playing, he could recognize as "Viva Forever" but the group always had him puzzled. He knew that they consisted of five-four now- hot(as Carlos and TJ put it) female artists but the name seemed to never come to the tip of his tongue. Thinking, his thoughts drifted to Spice but what was the other part? He knew there was one. Spice...Girls? Yes, that was it. He shook his head looked towards her room once more.
He smiled as he watched Ashley, who continued to sing, oblivious to the red ranger watching her. She seemed to pause in her singing, hitting something on her CD player. She took the headphones off and let the song start over, through her speakers on the boom box. Her voice once again joined in with the song.
Do you still remember, how we used to be
Feeling together, believing whatever
My love has said to me
Both of us were dreamers
Young love in the sun
Felt like my savior, my spirit I gave you
We'd only just begun
Hasta Ma-ana, always be mine
Viva forever, I'll be waiting
Everlasting, like the sun
Live forever, for the moment
Ever searching for the one
Andros moved from the door and leaned against the wall as he listened to the rest of the song play through her speakers. He could feel the pounding of his heart grow stronger as his thoughts drifted to Ashley. Since the first time he'd seen her, he knew that there was something special about her. Not really knowing what it was before, he'd been distant, cold, afraid of the feelings that had occurred. Now, she was a daily part of his life and truthfully, he liked it. He more then liked it, he loved it and couldn't picture a future without her, which was looming ahead of them. They were close to Zordon's trail and soon, it would be over. He'd go back to KO-35 and begin to help Zhane reconstruct it, and Ashley would go back to her family on earth. Never to see each other again. After all, they couldn't use their power for personal gain. That was a rule that was followed for centuries.
I don't think I can stand this much longer, he thought, a hand drifting to his face, brushing away the tears that had begun to fall. I love her, and just the mere thought of ever being a part from her tears me up.
With a sigh, Andros turned from Ashley's room and walked back into his own room.
Yes I still remember, every whispered word
The touch of your skin, giving life from within
Like a love song that I'd heard
Slippin' through our fingers, like the sands of time
Promises made, every memory saved
As reflections in my mind
Hasta Manana, always be mine
Viva forever, I'll be waiting
Everlasting, like the sun
Live forever, for the moment
Ever searching for the one
Ashley's mind was a flurry as she listened to Andros leave. She'd known that he had stopped and watched her. It pleased her to know that he cared that much just to watch her. Something though, about his approach, worried her. She didn't know what it was, but something wasn't right, she could feel it.
Standing up, she left the light airy yellow room and walked down the hallway to his red silent room. She looked inside, and found him on his bed, his head bowed over a brown picture frame. She hesitantly walked in closer and watched him silently.
"I love her," came whispered words at last. "Why can't I just tell her this? I love her with all my heart, and I don't think I can go on much longer...Knowing that we'll be separated soon." His hand reached to his cheek and brushed away tears.
Before she could stop herself, she walked to the bed and sat down beside him. He looked up at her in surprise then blushed and wiped away at the tears cursing his cheeks.
"You don't have to tell me," she muttered softly. "I just heard," Andros cringed inside at her silent words. "And I feel the same way," his eyes rose and grew in surprise. Turning to her, he asked, "Are you telling me the truth?"
Ashley nodded. "From the first time I laid eyes on you, I knew you were the...One for me." To compliment her words, she leaned close to him and brought a hand to brush away loose tears then brought her lips to his, and kissed him softly.
Back where I belong now, was it just a dream
Feelings unfold, they will never be sold
And the secret's safe with me
Hasta Ma-ana, always be mine
Viva forever (viva forever), I'll be waiting (I'll be waiting)
Everlasting (everlasting), like the sun (like the sun)
Live forever (live forever), for the moment (for the moment)
Ever searching (ever searching) for the one (for the one)
Viva forever (viva forever), I'll be waiting
Everlasting, like the sun
Live forever (live forever), for the moment
Ever searching for the one
Andros's eyes widened even more when Ashley pulled away then they turned downwards. "Why would you like me? I don't deserve a girlfriend as nice or as beautiful as you."
"Yes you do." Ashley's stern voice lectured. "You're too hard on yourself."
Andros smiled at that and took her hand. "I'm not sure where this is headed, but I'd like to try this with you. You bring out the light in my darkness and I love you Ashley. Even if I do seem distant 75% of the time."
Ashley just shook her head and kissed him again.
Viva forever (viva forever), I'll be waiting
Everlasting, like the sun
Live forever (live forever), for the moment
Ever searching for the one (for the one)
Viva forever, I'll be waiting (I'll be waiting)
Everlasting, like the sun
Live forever (live forever), for the moment
Ever searching for the one
THE END
